"How can Swedish industry become more gender-equal – and why does it matter?" We are proud to take the next step in our collaboration with ABB and Volvo Construction Equipment in the project "Diversity for Innovation and Competitive Excellence" (DICE)! In Sweden, the progress towards more gender-equal workplaces is still slow. However, we are convinced that change is possible and that a gender-equal industrial sector contributes to a stronger and more sustainable society. Through the DICE project, we are exploring both obstacles and solutions to create a culture where everyone has the same opportunity to grow. Three insights from leading voices in the project: 1. Jonas Stier, Professor at MDU and project leader: "Gender equality leads to higher creativity and innovation in the business environment and helps organizations better understand customer needs." 2. Dennis Helfridsson, Country Manager, ABB Sweden: "We want to find out why some companies have difficulty hiring more female managers and hope that scientific insights will provide new methods to increase diversity." 3. Jeanette Widén, Head of People & Culture Sweden, Volvo CE: "Greater diversity allows us to attract and retain top talent, supporting our transformation journey and creating value for all stakeholders." We believe together in the power of research to lead change. Are you also on board for the journey towards a more gender-equal industrial world? #collaboration #research #genderequality

A progressive and collaborative university where together we form a sustainable future.
Om oss
Here people meet who wish to study, conduct research, teach, and help create a sustainable future through knowledge and innovation. We believe that knowledge and fresh perspectives are best attained and reached together with others – our colleagues, students, the private and public sectors, both nationally and internationally. Around 17 000 students are currently studying courses and programmes with us in the various domains. We offer education in areas such as design and communication, economics, health, engineering and technology, preschool and compulsory school teacher training as well as in chamber music and opera. In most of our areas we also offer programmes entirely taught in English. We conduct research in all disciplinary domains and our research in Future Energy and Embedded Systems is internationally prominent. Mälardalen University is located in Sweden, on both sides of Lake Mälaren, with campuses in Eskilstuna and Västerås. Mälardalen is a region dominated by strong growth with several multinational companies based here such as ABB, Volvo, Westinghouse, Alstom and Northvolt. We enjoy close cooperation with the region’s private sector, municipalities, and county councils. How Does AI Affect Our Future? AI is gaining ground rapidly. It's becoming more human-like, while human abilities are increasingly seen as just cognitive capacity. Films and books have long told stories about machines that surpass us, but now these narratives are increasingly found in popular science. This fascination with AI has created a popular genre. Experts in computer science, philosophy, neurology, and journalism explore the possibilities and risks of the future. Will AI solve global problems and give us more free time, or will it become a threat to humanity? 😎 💥 Thomas Wahl explores this exciting topic in the latest blog post from the research group DigMa. DigMa (Digitalized Management) gathers current research that contributes to the development of knowledge about digitalization and its organizational effects. 👀 Read the latest blog post here: https://lnkd.in/dSP37H2E 📧 For any inquiries/comments, email digma@mdu.se With DigMa we aim for both managers and employees in the private and public sectors to gain insights on how digital technology affects organisations and the future of work and management. #digitalisation #organization #futureofwork #digitalwork
