Supporting textile recycling at Stockholm University! Recently, we installed a Thermo Scientific Process 11 extruder for Professor Aji Mathew and her team at Stockholms universitet. This system, part of their work on polymer and textile recycling, will be coupled with a Thermo NIR spectrometer to enable in-line analysis during processing. The infrastructure funded by WISE is part of Circulab platform at SU and will be used to develop data driven materials design. The research will include mechanochemistry, solvent free in situ synthesis and modifications, upcycling of textiles and agricultural residues , biocomposite processing etc. These efforts align with circular and sustainable practices, contributing to a reduced environmental footprint from polymeric materials At SU, SUCCeSS (a center for interdisciplinary research in circular and sustainable systems) will transdisciplinary networking and aims to use this as a collaborative platform where researchers, industry, and policymakers work together to tackle the major challenges of our time and advance sustainable futures. It’s exciting to see how this equipment will contribute to innovative solutions in textile recycling! #MaterialsAnalysis #Sustainability #TextileRecycling #Gammadata #ThermoScientific #SustainableMaterials #Biobased #MaterialsChemistry Thermo Fisher Scientific
