What's your thoughts on eggs? Women consuming five eggs per week seemed to experience less decline in verbal fluency 🍳 🧠 Eggs are sometimes a dietary paradox, rich in brain-boosting nutrients like choline, lutein, and zeaxanthin but high in cholesterol. A new study published in Nutrients sheds some light on their role in cognitive health, especially for women. Key finding: - Women consuming five eggs per week experienced less decline in verbal fluency, a measure of semantic memory that is crucial for language comprehension and factual recall. - Interestingly, no significant link between egg intake and cognitive change was found in men. However, the study confirmed that eggs did not harm cognitive function in either sex. What could this mean? -Moderate egg consumption may play a small but beneficial role in preserving memory, particularly for women. - This aligns with research showing people with moderate choline intake (about what you’d get from two eggs daily) are half as likely to experience low cognitive function compared to those with the lowest intake. What’s your take? Could this be a healthy user bias? Do you incorporate eggs into your diet? Let’s discuss! 👇 #WomensHealth #WomenLongevity #HealthyAging #FemaleLongevity #Longevity

Harnessing Nutrition for Cognitive Vitality During Menopause For many women, menopause can bring unexpected challenges, including shifts in memory, focus, and mental clarity. However, the latest research offers a hopeful perspective: the foods we eat may play a crucial role in supporting cognitive health during this transformative phase. Studies suggest that adopting nutrient-dense diets, such as the Mediterranean or DASH diet, rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats, could help combat inflammation and oxidative stress—key factors linked to cognitive decline. This knowledge empowers you to take control of your health during menopause. Flavonoids, naturally occurring compounds in foods like berries, citrus fruits, dark chocolate, and green tea, are gaining attention for their potential role in brain health. These powerful antioxidants have been shown to support neuroprotection and may reduce the risk of memory-related issues. Isoflavones, found in soy-based foods, are particularly promising. Due to its possible estrogen-like effects (further research is required to confirm such claims), they may help counteract hormonal changes that influence cognitive function during menopause. This reassures you that your dietary choices can indeed make a significant difference in your brain health. While the science is still evolving, these findings suggest that a colorful, plant-rich diet isn't just good for the body—it could also be a powerful ally for the mind. By making strategic dietary choices, such as incorporating flavonoids, isoflavones, and polyphenol-rich foods, women can potentially unlock sharper focus, better memory, and improved mood as they navigate the menopause transition. Explore these transformative insights from Yelland et al.’s narrative review, and embrace the possibility of cognitive wellness through nutrition. So grateful to have just given a speech at the Women & Longevity Summit! 💚 Longevity and how we can feel our best is a topic I'm deeply interested in, and there are so many exciting developments happening in this field. The title of my speech was “How to Live in a Health-Focused and Longevity-Supportive Way as an Entrepreneur”. My focus was on the importance of developing a what I call longevity mindset to both feel and perform at your best as an entrepreneur. When we feel our best, we are also able to make the greatest impact. Thank you so much Jenny Lundkvist, Linus Petersson, Per Söderström and the whole team for this opportunity and for such an inspiring day!

Women in Longevity Exist! Ripple effect means sometimes being a ripple maker is simple. Starting with a small action, so I am creating this post to ask everyone interested to learn and expand the conversation about longevity #Reachout ! Today at Women & Longevity Summit , we discussed so many great and diverse topics that impact ageing for women and also the way longevity movement is needing to have more data about women. Key takeaways : micro biome impacts ageing in the gut & skin(!), there is some cool haptic technology to understand the female body being created, the power to imagine working out actually has impact on your body 👀, women make up so much of the population, but female health continues to turn be very underfunded. Thank you Jenny Lundkvist Per Grankvist and DAYA for this inspiring opportunity!

✨ WHY FEMALE LONGEVITY MATTERS ✨ Women outlive men but spend 25% more of their lifespan in poor health compared to men. Women take sick leave 80% more often than men. Although women make up more than 50% of the population and give birth to 100% of it, only 4% of global research and development funding is dedicated to women's health. Let's close the gender health gap now. Here are some of the latest findings on female longevity that we want to share with you. If you have any, please share them in the comments! • Publication 1: As we age, declining hormone levels, like testosterone in men and estrogen in women, are linked to muscle and bone loss, impacting overall health and physical function. New research shows that targeted hormone replacement therapies (HRT) could be key to mitigating age-related sarcopenia and bone loss, helping to maintain physical performance and improve longevity. With proper implementation, HRT has the potential to support healthier aging for both men and women. https://lnkd.in/dYvrVAyh • Publication 2: Exciting advancements in menopause research are reshaping how we understand women’s health! Naomi Rance’s groundbreaking work has led to the development of fezolinetant, a non-hormonal treatment for hot flushes, addressing neurological causes of menopause symptoms. As we uncover more about the brain’s role in this life transition, the future looks promising for better therapies. https://lnkd.in/d8agtsYr • Publication 3: For 30 years, the NIH Revitalization Act has pushed forward the inclusion of women in clinical trials, but there’s still work to do! Female participation remains low in critical research areas, and funding for conditions like menopause and autoimmune diseases is lacking. It’s time to close the gender gap in health research and ensure equitable funding for conditions affecting women. https://lnkd.in/eMT6fQFt ___ On November 12th, scientists, investors, entrepreneurs, and other experts will meet at Elements Stockholm to discuss how we can create a healthier future for women – and for everyone.
