I really enjoyed DevSum - I've been wanting to visit Sweden for many years because when I worked at IBM I had some team mates there and I loved how they were: bright, engaged, helpful. Of course I know, just because some people I knew were like that, it didn't mean the whole country was... but I hoped 😊🤗 And indeed, from the sampling I met at #DevSum I was not disappointed. I loved how interested the attendees were in my sessions. Often when I speak at Conferences people sit stoically staring at me without expression and it's hard to tell if they love it or hate it... or just "Meh" it. At DevSum I felt the love. It was so much fun to Speak to an audience who smiled back at me. And I love that I inspired some of them to write posts on LinkedIn too. The weather was perfect and they took us on a Trip to the Vasa Museum on Saturday - and then I saw Taylor Swift at the Friends Arena that night. It was a wonderful trip in a beautiful land amongst amazing people.

Man får göra svåra val ibland. PS. Sorry Michelle that i wrote this in swedishy but i guess Linkedin or Google translate comes to the rescue ;-) https://lnkd.in/d-3xGxTb

What a ride 🎢 The 🌟20th anniversary of #DevSum 🌟 surpassed any expectations. The amount of knowledge, the quality of the sessions and the top-notch event management left all the speakers wanting more and looking forward to the 21st edition! A short, yet personal summary: 💪A powerful presentation by Michelle Sandford on increasing your impact. An especially relevant line on career nowadays: "I am seen therefore I am". Conferences are not only about sessions - also about empowering conversations behind the scenes. Thank you Rachel Appel Mey Beisaron Laïla Bougriâ for being my own Board of Female Support and making me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside :) Representation matters and I am proud so see such great females rocking it on the stage in the tech industry! Special thanks to the organizers Cornerstone, Tibi Covaci Anna Åkman Wendy Winlund Robert Battistich Ulf Dalgaard. Apologies if I missed anyone! See you all again soon!

I had two great days at DevSum this week. My main takeaways are: - Michelle Sandford's talk "Well connected" - it inspired me to write this post. - Allan Kelly's "Honey I shrunk the backlog" - with the bold idea to nuke the backlog every quarter. An interesting topic that I believe may lead to better results than just keeping items in there for decades as an ever growing "didn't do list". I will study this concept further through his book "Succeeding with OKRs in Agile". - Orchestration vs choreography by Laïla Bougriâ . A good comparison between the two architectural concepts that I will keep in mind in my future work with distributed systems. Also nice to hear a mention of Björn Ottosson's Oklab in 💜 Andreas Wänqvist 's "How to rock your frontend apps with 10 awesome CSS features" and a somewhat nostalgic experience listening to Steve Sanderson's keynote "The beginning, present, and future of web tech". I'm looking forward to hear more about what my colleagues Sebastian Ferngren, Roman Knellwolf and Daniel Forslund learned from the sessions I didn't attend, and to bring back our new knowledge to MSAB to make use of it in our projects and share it with our colleagues at the office!

Just returned from an inspiring, refreshing and knowledge-packed event at DevSum conference 2024, 20'th edition here in Stockholm. 🌟🙂 It was an incredible opportunity to connect with fellow tech enthusiasts and industry leaders, all passionate about pushing the boundaries of development and innovation. The seminars were a perfect blend of deep dives on MS stack named few: Building Cloud Native app in .Net Aspire by Scott Hunter, Orchestration vs Choreography -the good, bad and the trade offs by Laila Bougria, On Security track: Kevin Dockx’s Demystifying Azure Security , Alan Smith’s LLM demystified software engineering best practices. A few highlights: 🚀 Engaging keynote speech by Steve Sanderson on the beginning, present, and future of webtech. 💡 Hands-on workshop in Blazor. 🤝 Secure SPA with BFF by Roland Guijt. Looking forward to apply the learnings and continuing the conversations started here. I joined with my colleague Anirban Singha and we thoroughly enjoyed this edition of Devsum. 😊 #DevSum2024 #TechConference

What fantastic two days it has been at DevSum 2024! The event featured great speakers and fascinating topics, I particularly listened in on the security tracks. It’s quite alarming just how "easy" it is to hack something. Here are some key notes from the lectures I attended: Secure Coding: This lecture focused on common coding problems and mistakes, mapping them to OWASP findings. A startling revelation was from the OWASP 2023 API security Top 10 attacks: three of the top five issues are related to access control. Why is access control so challenging to implement correctly, and what solutions do we have? The session delved deep into these questions, providing practical insights and solutions. Don't Trust the Browser: Secure SPAs with BFF: OpenIdConnect and OAuth are industry standards for securing frontend and backend applications with tokens. However, sending tokens to the browser is risky—comparable to trusting lions with a cow. This lecture introduced the BFF (Backend For Frontend) pattern as a solution, using ASP.NET Core on the server and React on the client side. Even if you’re not using ASP.NET Core, the concepts are universally applicable. Supply Chain Attacks in the Terraform Registry: The Terraform Registry enables engineers to incorporate community modules into their configurations for managing enterprise infrastructures. Unfortunately, the Registry has a significant security vulnerability. This session highlighted the risks and provided strategies to mitigate these supply chain attacks. Attending DevSum 2024 was a fantastic experience, filled with valuable insights and practical knowledge on cybersecurity. Looking forward to applying these learnings and attending future events! I attended with my fantastic colleagues, Jakob Erixon, Christian Kihlstrand, Willy Kind, Mattias Sundström and Chaitanya Kumar Singanamala, it was nice sharing this experience with you, thank you so much! #devsum
