At Allkin, we have a zest for sparking connections in our communities! That’s why we cherish our annual tradition of celebrating Chinese New Year with the community. 🧨 The tradition of 拜年 (“bai nian” or visiting) is all about honouring relationships. Every year, we greet those in our neighbourhoods with mandarin oranges – to not only spread joy and good fortune, but also appreciate the contributions of residents, volunteers and community partners who journey with Allkin. 🍊🍊 More than just fun, the Chinese New Year festivities are an ap-peel-ing way to build bonds among individuals from diverse backgrounds, creating opportunities to strengthen networks so that we can forge more mutually supportive communities. From the young ones in our Student Academies to the seniors in our Active Ageing Centres, everyone had a blast at this year’s Chinese New Year celebrations across our touchpoints! Swipe to get a glimpse of the festivities 👉 A big thank you to all the partners, volunteers and community members who joined us! As we journey into the new year together, we’re excited to see how these seeds of friendship and connection will bear fruit. 😊

Meet Sandy and David, a (literal) couple of volunteers! 💘 Together for over 20 years, they’re always seeking new shared experiences, and volunteering has become a meaningful way to do just that. Through volunteering, they use their strengths for a good cause, spend quality time together, and deepen their understanding of each other. In fact, they’re already booked and busy with fresh volunteering opportunities this year! This Valentine’s Day, swipe to be inspired by this adorable couple’s story 👉 Of course, volunteering isn’t just for couples – anyone can spread the love. And who knows? You might even meet someone special along the way. 😉 👉 Sign up to be a volunteer now: https://lnkd.in/gtFMDsy6

Sometimes, a single decision can change the course of your life. Darren Lim, a Programme Coordinator with Allkin’s Senior Service, experienced this firsthand when he chose to pursue a different career path from what he studied. He shares how caring for his late grandparents and observing the social worker who helped his family work through their caregiving difficulties shaped his journey into the social service sector—turning personal experience into meaningful impact. To him, this path isn’t just a career; it’s about finding purpose, connection, and making a difference in the ways that truly matter. Inspired by Darren’s spark and passion for building thriving and connected communities? Follow our page or visit allkin.org.sg to learn more about Allkin’s work. 👇

Education plays an essential role in paving paths to brighter futures and creating opportunities to bridge social inequalities. Everyone deserves a fair chance to pursue their educational aspirations, regardless of their background or circumstances. Yet, while all of us have our own goals and strengths, some start on an uneven playing field with unequal access to resources to fulfil their dreams. Allkin invests in the potential of under-resourced students, providing the financial support they need to pursue educational journeys that leverage their unique talents, without added stress to their families’ finances. Each student receives $3,000 to $5,000 annually to cover not only school fees, but other schooling essentials such as textbooks, laptops and tuition fees. To date, we have disbursed over $350,000 to 92 students. 🎓 Swipe to witness how Allkin opens doors for students from disadvantaged backgrounds to achieve their dreams 👉 🙌 Support students like Yasothai in pursuing their dreams through education: allkin.org.sg/donate 💰 All donations of S$10 and above to Allkin Singapore will be eligible for 250% tax deduction.

As we approach Chinese New Year, many of us are hoping the turn of the year will bring an abundance of blessings. The Year of the Snake heralds a season of renewal and growth. 🐍 Yet, not everyone has access to the opportunities and resources they need to create a better future for themselves. While many of us may be indulging in a sumptuous reunion dinner or enjoying the company of loved ones, vulnerable individuals – such as isolated seniors or families experiencing low income – may spend Chinese New Year alone or burdened with financial worries. Swipe to discover 2 ways you can #HuatWithAHeart, making the year ahead a brighter one for these underprivileged individuals and families. 🧧 💌 Donate $88 to support underprivileged individuals in the community: bit.ly/AllkinCNY25 🎟 Donate your unspent CDC Vouchers 2024: https://lnkd.in/gGPTHDex Wishing you and your loved ones an auspicious and prosperous Chinese New Year! 🍊🍊
