The Biomedical Engineering Society (Singapore) had its humble beginning in 1991, when a group of doctors and engineers who had been working together on biomedical engineering research projects decided to form a society to promote the field of Biomedical Engineering in Singapore.
ICBME 2024: A Global Convergence of Biomedical Engineering Excellence
The much-anticipated ICBME 2024 commenced with a warm welcome address by the General Chair, Prof Chwee Teck (C.T.) Lim, setting the stage for an exceptional conference. Attendees were honored by the Distinguished Lecture delivered by Prof Tan Chorh Chuan, Permanent Secretary of National Research and Development and former President of NUS, whose clinical insights have set a thought-provoking tone for the event.
Running from 9–12 December, ICBME 2024 has brought together over 700 participants from 34 countries, featuring an impressive 102 sessions and more than 200 speakers. As a flagship event for the global biomedical engineering community, it serves as a platform for innovation, collaboration, and transformative ideas.
With three and a half days of dynamic discussions, pioneering talks, and meaningful networking opportunities ongoing, ICBME 2024 is poised to leave a lasting impact on the future of biomedical engineering!

⌚️4th Wearable Technology Workshop 2024
HealthTEC.SG-Singapore Health Technologies Consortium is honored to have hosted this dynamic 1.5 day workshop on December 6–7 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Singapore in conjunction with Biomedical Engineering Society (Singapore) and iHealthtech, National University of Singapore. Held as a prelude to the 18th International Conference on Biomedical Engineering (ICBME 2024), this workshop united over 100 participants, including industry leaders, researchers, and students, all passionate about advancing wearable technologies in healthcare.
