Really feeling the post-hackathon blues today after wrapping up the #HIKEathon (AI Edition)! 🎯 🚀 Watching the Netrocks team present their final pitch was a proud coach moment. 🎤 ✨ You folks didn't just build a prototype - you showed what's possible when young minds tackle real-world challenges with AI. 💪 Being able to guide these talented students and see them grow over just a few intense days - that's what makes teaching at Hochschule Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences so rewarding. 🎓 ❤️ These past days have been an absolute rollercoaster of creativity and innovation. From our late-night brainstorming sessions (fueled by way too much coffee ☕️ 🧠) to watching prototypes come to life - every moment was pure energy. Even my own little Brilliant Labs smart glasses prototype I've been tinkering with lately got it right - it analyzed my facial expressions and predicted I'd be feeling down once this was all over. And here we are! 😢 Can't wait to see what emerges from all these incredible ideas and working prototypes in the coming years. When I see this level of innovation and dedication, I know the future of tech is in good hands. I have a feeling some of these projects might just transform from hackathon demos into real-world solutions. Using the Brilliant Labs ‘ Frame and Tap Systems Inc. (#TapWithUs) TapXR to control Philips Hue lights through a combination of object recognition and gesture control. Frame detects which light I'm looking at, while TapXR lets me adjust the brightness, saturation, and hue with a simple pinch and drag. Paired with our smart insoles, we’re exploring new ways to integrate wearables, AR, and IoT for seamless, intuitive control.

For one day, I allowed my audience to control my life. And in those 24 hours, they all agreed I should move to a small, baltic country in 4500 miles away. I will never do polls again.

Update on the AR Glasses for Dementia Project 🕶️ I've been building over the past couple of weeks AR glasses that provide dementia patients with environmental cues helping them navigate their daily lives. I've finished the first phase of the project where I designed and 3D printed the glasses [to gain some hardware skills], and created a facial recognition system through my computer's webcam until the parts for the AR display arrive. Really excited to continue this journey, where in phase 3 I'll be using the Brilliant Labs frames to implement the same system, but on a better form factor. Day 11 out of 100 wearing my A.I. glasses (designed to find happiness). Plot twist. Today it told me to move to Lithuania - a small country 4,316 miles away from my home. Not VISIT Lithuania. Not CHECK OUT Lithuania. But MOVE to Lithuania. And it's all my fault. On Day 10 I realized (due to extremely poor architecting in my part) that my A.I. was stuck on a loop. Unless I did something, it was going to recommend me to exercise every single day for the remaining 100 days of the challenge - which is not a bad strategy as far as happiness maxing goes, but would make for a pretty bad story. So I made some changes: - I created the concept of weekly themes, allowing my A.I. to explore a different facet of happiness every 7-10 days as it makes orders focused around that theme. - I told it to make the themes feel more like challenges, citing Mr. Beast as a reference (hoping that it will make them more entertaining to watch as the orders throughout a week have their own form of rising action). - And I told it to make sure that every theme pushes me physically and emotionally, while ensuring that it always moves me towards the goal of finding happiness. So why Lithuania was picked? I'm not sure. But I think I will find out.
