We had the privilege of hosting a delegation of Chinese social enterprises and public welfare organisations, led by Lv Zhao, Founder and CEO of Non-Profit Incubator (NPI) China. The two-day visit provided a valuable platform to exchange knowledge about philanthropy landscapes and explore cross-border collaboration, focusing on advancing global CSR and supporting low-income communities. National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) shared insights from the National Giving Study 2023, while CFS showcased the transformative impact of Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) and The Collective for a Stronger Society, a five-year initiative empowering lower-income families in Singapore. The visit concluded with a tour of Tak Takut Kid’s Club (TTKC), a programme under the Collective, where delegates saw firsthand the tangible impact of community funding on lower-income families. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners—NVPC, 3Pumpkins, and NPI—for their continued collaboration and unwavering support. Together, we look forward to fostering sustainable change and creating lasting impact for communities in need. #CFSEnablesGiving #Philanthropy #CollectiveForAStrongerSociety #DonorAdvisedFunds

CFS has partnered with Tian Fu Association (Singapore) on the launch of the Tianfu Foundation (Singapore). Celebrating their 25th Anniversary at Fairmont Singapore on Saturday, the association presented a cheque donation of $200,000 to CFS CEO Catherine Loh. This amount will initiate their donor-advised fund, through which they have committed to support vulnerable families in Singapore. Tian Fu Association is recognised as the first immigrant association established in Singapore. Over the years, they have supported the local community through education scholarships and bursaries, and assisted the integration of new immigrants in Singapore. "Establishing the Tianfu Foundation is our way of giving back to the community that has warmly embraced us. Guided by CFS's expertise, we are committed to uplifting families in need for a Singapore in which no one is left behind," said Mr Hu Junhui, President of Tian Fu Association. #CFSEnablesGiving #DonorAdvisedFund #Philanthropy

As we step into 2025, a year marking Singapore’s 60th birthday, we celebrate not just our nation’s milestones but the quiet heroes who shaped it. One man honoured his late majie by using her life savings to start a memorial fund, ensuring her legacy of service lives on. The majie were a group of women who worked as domestic helpers, or amahs, in Singapore between the 1930s and 1970s. “It’s a statement that her life mattered. I hope, in a very small way, to honour her and the generations of majie who have made Singapore their home and given their lives in service. Rather than them fading into history, we can help to remember them.” Her story reminds us that a life of service leaves a lasting impact. How will you honour the ones who shaped your life? 🌟 Learn more about creating a legacy at https://legacygiving.sg. #CFSEnablesGiving #SG60 #GreaterGift #LegacyGiving

What would you do if the nanny who cared for you as a child left her life savings of over $100,000 to you after her passing? For Mr. Lim, the answer was clear— to honour 'Toh Jie' by creating a memorial fund with CFS, ensuring her legacy of care and compassion supports meaningful causes like social work education and ageing well. 🎉 A big congratulations to Alan Choo Su Ho on being named one of the four recipients of the Young Artist Award 2024! In 2014, The Community Foundation of Singapore (CFS) and donor Ms Vivien Goh supported Alan's artistic journey through the Goh Soon Tioe Centenary Award. Established by Ms Goh to honour her late father, a musical pioneer in Singapore, this award provides young talents with a solo recital opportunity and a cash grant. Since then, it has empowered 11 musicians, including Alan, to excel in their craft. Today, Alan is a celebrated artist and the founder of Singapore’s first professional Baroque ensemble, Red Dot Baroque, sharing Singapore’s classical music excellence on the global stage. 🎻🌍 The Young Artist Award, conferred by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) and administered by the National Arts Council, celebrates Singapore’s brightest talents aged 35 and below, recognising their exceptional promise and leadership in the arts. CFS is proud to partner with our donors to support talented Singaporeans like Alan and contribute to the advancement of classical music in Singapore. 🎻🎶 Read more: https://lnkd.in/gr-HfBWZ #CFSEnablesGiving #ArtsAndHeritage

We were pleased to welcome a Chinese delegation from the Global DAF Forum who visited CFS to learn more about Singapore's philanthropic landscape. As the nation’s oldest community foundation and pioneer of donor-advised funds, we were able to share our insights into 15 years of growth and evolution in the charitable space. Our CEO Catherine drew from her well of experience to share stories of impact from some of our longest-standing donor funds. It is always a pleasure to exchange ideas and experiences with like-minded friends from around the world. We are truly inspired to hear about the work that they are doing in China. #CFSEnablesGiving #DonorAdvisedFunds #Philanthropy

🌕✨ Mid-Autumn Festival took on a special meaning this year as CFS staff joined hands with the trainees of APSN Centre for Adults (CFA) in a lantern painting activity. Together, we turned simple lanterns into vibrant works of art that decorated the entrance of the centre. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at the APSN Café for All, lovingly prepared and served by the trainees. Following the meal, we toured the facility, exploring the kitchen, urban farming, and retail sectors. These activities deepened our appreciation for CFA’s transformative impact and the vital work they do to empower individuals with mild intellectual disabilities. APSN currently provides special education, vocational training, and employment support to over 6,000 beneficiaries through their four Special Education (SPED) schools, APSN Student Care Centre, APSN Centre for Adults, and APSN Learning Hub. Special thanks to the donors who are making a difference to the lives of these special individuals! Read more: https://lnkd.in/gTX9tTD3 #CFSEnablesGiving #ImprovingEmployability

‘Tak Takut’ means ‘no fear’ in Malay, and that’s exactly what the Tak Takut Kids Club (TTKC) is all about. TTKC offers a safe space—a supportive 'good gang'—where children can freely be themselves, embrace self-acceptance, and grow in confidence without fear of judgement. By fostering a culture of care, TTKC empowers kids to explore their interests and make their own choices, with adults offering guidance and encouragement every step of the way. TTKC is part of The Collective for a Stronger Society—CFS’s largest initiative dedicated to uplifting and empowering lower-income families and their children through comprehensive support. TTKC had the good fortune of having a fun and upbeat feature by Our Grandfather Story (OGS), capturing both the TTKC vision and spirit. The TTKC kiddos never fail to delight with their antics! Gratitude to GIC for being a partner who is always so thoughtful and collaborative in creating social impact! Have fun watching! https://lnkd.in/g8y-8WU3
