  • 🌏 CCC at the 1st Asia Pacific Population Health Conference 🌏 We joined professionals from across the region at the inaugural Asia Pacific Population Health Conference, where we explored groundbreaking approaches to improving population health. Two key insights that we shared during the conference: 💡 How family therapy can play a crucial role in supporting the mental health of chronic illness patients and their families, providing a foundation for resilience and recovery. 💡 The importance of integrating mental and social care systems for effective rehabilitation of chronic disease in Singapore, fostering a holistic approach to patient well-being. In line with our commitment to continue collaborating with experts and organisations to push the frontiers of population health, here's to building systems that care for both mind and body. #PopulationHealth #FamilyTherapy #ChronicIllnessCare #IntegratedCare #MentalHealth

  • On 22nd November, we attended the Singapore Counselling & Psychotherapy Symposium organised by Singapore Association for Counselling. Dr Chua represented us in sharing about the current best practices and future developments in systemic counselling and family therapy. It’s always insightful for us to be part of events like these — it reminds us of how we are part of a bigger community, and the need for integration among multi disciplines. We’re encouraged in our mission to continuously meet the needs of the mental well-being of our communities in Singapore. 🙌🏻🍃

  • Have you ever caught yourself saying, “Ugh! Men just don’t get it”? 🙋♀️ It’s a phrase many of us might have used in frustration — but it’s worth unpacking. November is Men's Health Awareness Month 🧔🏻♂️💙 We thought it'd be a good idea to do some deep diving into men’s mental health, and realised that it’s not about not getting it. Often, it’s about societal norms that have made it harder for men to express vulnerability, seek help, or even recognise when they’re struggling. 💭 The stats speak for themselves: men are often less likely to seek help for mental health challenges, which can lead to devastating consequences. So, let’s reframe the conversation: 💡 Instead of saying “Men just don’t get it,” can we ask, “What support might they need to feel understood?” 💡 Instead of judging silence, can we create spaces where vulnerability feels safe and celebrated? Men's mental health isn't just a men's issue — it’s something we all need to champion. 💙 What can we do to foster safer spaces for men to share openly? Share your thoughts or experiences—we’d love to hear what resonates with you! #MensHealthAwarenessMonth #MentalHealthMatters #BreakTheStigma

  • Three weeks ago, we hosted the inaugural Singapore Family Therapy Conference in conjunction with Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and OCTAVE Institute Limited, featuring Guest of Honour Mr. Eric Chua, who emphasised the family as part of an interconnected system. With over 300 participants, we engaged in two days of workshops, seminars, and keynote sessions with local and international practitioners such as . Missed this run? Here’s a snapshot of the key takeaways: 1. Collaboration & Collective Effort 🤝🏻🌐 Participants shared candidly about the pressures of balancing funder, client, and policy demands, and how complex casework can lead to burnout and turnover. Despite these challenges, the conference sparked a powerful exchange of insights and cross-sector collaboration — from Singapore Prison Service and Family Justice Courts to Ministry of Social and Family Development, Singapore (MSF) and Institute of Mental Health. Our trainers from Hong Kong, Canada, America and Australia were also present to share their insights. Together, we felt the strength of a community dedicated to systemic practice. 2. Finding a Shared Language 👥 Highlighting the difficulty of conveying the value of systemic therapy across disciplines, Mai from Hayaa' Network and Siew Noi, who's had over 2 decades of experience in FSCs, shared their honest reflections on how pursuing this practice requires years and decades of commitment, accountability and patience. Both pioneers of the systemic practice, they encouraged many to stay committed, knowing others are pursuing the same vision. 3. Moving Forward with Hope 👣💫 The hope of this conference was truly to bring a community of people who believe in the same practice together — and we think that mission was accomplished. Many of us left with renewed optimism, a vision to broaden systemic practice across sectors, and more importantly - to build a supportive ecosystem for Singapore’s communities. Thank you for bringing your enthusiasm to this Conference!  - If you’d like to learn more about Systemic Practice with CCC, we’ve just opened our January intake for 2025’s courses.
