𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁? Traditionally, men have been perceived as more driven toward self-improvement. However, statistics from the International Coaching Federation (ICF) reveal a striking contrast: 58% of coaching clients are women (𝘙𝘦𝘧𝘦𝘳 𝘐𝘊𝘍 2023 𝘎𝘭𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘺) This raises an interesting question: Despite the well-documented benefits of coaching, what is holding men back from embracing this powerful tool for personal and professional growth? 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀: 𝟭. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 "𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗶𝘅 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝘆𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳" 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Men often feel societal pressure to appear self-sufficient, leading to a reluctance to seek external support like coaching. Cultural expectations of independence can create a barrier to accepting help. 𝟮. 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗷𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Coaching may be perceived as admitting to weaknesses, which conflicts with traditional notions of masculinity that prioritize strength and competence. 𝟯. 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Coaching often requires self-reflection and vulnerability, which can feel unfamiliar or uncomfortable for men accustomed to focusing on external, action-oriented solutions. 𝟰. 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴: Some men may see coaching as a tool focused solely on emotional exploration or “soft skills,” rather than as a results-driven process that can enhance performance and outcomes. 𝟱. 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Men may favor informal methods of growth, such as self-help books, peer networks, or trial-and-error, instead of structured coaching relationships. Any thoughts? Have you observed similar trends in your circle, coaching practice or professional experience? Why do you think fewer men are seeking coaching for self-improvement? #Coaching #MensAndCoaching #SelfImprovement #Leadership #PersonalGrowth #GenXcel #ThrivingTogether

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻? During the holiday season, we meet family and friends we haven’t seen in a while. Almost everyone asks, “𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘬𝘪𝘥𝘴 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨?” Do we reply with: ✨ “𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳” or ✨ “𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘈𝘴 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳” It’s tempting to lean on achievements - after all, it’s what most people expect to hear. But what if we focused on their values, effort, and growth rather than just their results? For me, I chose this narrative instead: My children were happy being themselves, they adapted to their new environments, made many new friends, helped others overcome challenges, and worked hard to achieve their best. In 2025, perhaps one of the greatest gifts we can offer our children is the reassurance that 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦. A great way to start is by discovering their strengths and building on them. Finding activities that align with their natural talents can help them shine in ways that feel authentic to who they are. I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this! As the new year begins, many of us are filled with hope, ambition, and freshly written goals. But let’s be honest - how often do these resolutions fall by the wayside, lost somewhere between January and February? It’s not that we don’t know how to set goals. We’ve heard it all before: • Make them SMART • Write them down • Break them into smaller steps So why do so many goals remain unattained? 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝟭. 𝗟𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Setting goals is easy, but sticking to them is hard. It takes discipline and perseverance to overcome obstacles and setbacks. 𝟮. 𝗔𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘁𝘀: Goals without systems are like destinations without a map. If we don’t build habits that align with our goals, progress becomes inconsistent, and frustration sets in. 𝟯. 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲: Sometimes we unconsciously sabotage our own success by making excuses, procrastinating, or setting ourselves up for failure. 𝟰. 𝗟𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Not holding yourself accountable for your own progress makes it easy to lose focus and let goals slide. When there’s no external or internal check on your progress, distractions take over, and momentum fades. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗣𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵? 𝗮. 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: Motivation is fleeting, but discipline and resilience will see you through tough days. Commit to showing up, even when you don’t feel like it. Recognize that setbacks aren’t failures—they’re opportunities to learn and grow. 𝗯. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗬𝗼𝘂: Create systems that align with how you thrive. Focus on your strengths, rhythms, and what keeps you productive. Whether it’s using focused work sessions, setting small milestones, or regular check-ins, design a flexible structure that supports your progress and adapts to your needs. 𝗰. 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗦𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲: Take an honest look at what might be holding you back. Replace excuses with solutions, procrastination with action, and fear with curiosity. Building self-awareness is key to breaking patterns of self-sabotage. 𝗱. 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿: Share your goals with someone who will check in on your progress - a coach, mentor, or trusted friend. Knowing someone is invested in your success can provide the extra motivation needed to push through. As we step into this new year, let’s aim for more than just setting goals. Let’s build systems, cultivate perseverance, and fully commit to the journey, no matter how bumpy it gets. What’s one goal you’re working on this year, and what’s your first step to achieving it? Let’s inspire and support each other. #GenXcel #GoalSetting #ThrivingTogether

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹? As a young engineer, I found myself in a situation that changed the way I viewed success. Our team was asked to deliver a supposedly small application in just one month. The requirements seemed straightforward to me. While my manager wisely declared the timeline was too short, my youthful optimism (and inexperience) got the better of me. I opened my mouth and said the words that would change everything: "𝘞𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘥𝘰 𝘪𝘵." The project landed squarely on my plate. I put in long hours, coding late into the night, and by the end of the week, I had a 𝘥𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵-𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩-𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦-𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨-𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵. But, as you've probably already guessed, I failed to impress my manager. This experience, however, taught me some invaluable lessons that shaped my growth: 📍 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴. At the time, I underestimated the effort involved in stakeholder communication, iterations, and testing. Delivering on time means understanding the whole process. 📍 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼'𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲. My manager had seen situations like this before, and his experience offered insights that I simply didn’t have at the time. Listening more often leads to better decisions. 📍 𝗔𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗺𝘆 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸𝘆. While it didn’t go perfectly, speaking up gave me the chance to grow and take ownership - something that’s just as important as knowing when to listen. 📍 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁. This project, despite being a failure at first glance, turned out to be one of my greatest teachers. It taught me resilience, ownership, and how to navigate discomfort. 📍 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁. Instead of avoiding the emotions that come with failure, I learned to embrace them. Navigating through discomfort became a skill I relied on for future growth. Navigating Transitions: Why You Need a Framework Transitions, whether personal or professional, can feel like stepping into uncharted territory. They are full of opportunities but can also be overwhelming. That’s where a framework comes in. Drawing from my experience as a Project Manager and Transition Coach, I use a simple yet powerful framework to help my clients navigate these moments: 1️⃣ Define Your Goals: Where are you heading, and why? 2️⃣ Break It Down: What milestones and steps will get you there? 3️⃣ Anticipate Challenges: What obstacles might arise, and how will you address them? Think of this framework as your roadmap: clear, actionable, and grounded in purpose. When you approach transitions this way, they become less about uncertainty and more about opportunity. A good coach will be able to help untangle the issues and help you chart a way forward. What’s one transition in your life where a roadmap could make all the difference? #GenXcel #TransitionCoaching #ThrivingTogether
