Who knew that every time our driver and delivery-partners are on the road, they’re hyper localising our maps? Philipp Kandal shares how AI is helping us plot all the shortcuts in your hometown👇

We've been doing some really good work with the OpenAI team and this is one example of it. GrabMaps are core to how efficiently our services run, how productive we can help our drivers to be, and how reliably we can serve our users. So we're constantly looking at how we can do mapping better. Using the latest GPT4o vision fine-tuning capabilities have led to 20% improvements for our maps in Lane Count accuracy and 13% in speed sign localization. It's been a great partnership with lots of positive energy between the Grab and OpenAI teams, and many more cool stuff to come! Stay tuned.

Education is one of the most powerful tools for breaking the cycle of poverty—yet for many Filipino families, it remains out of reach. Studies show that a college degree can increase lifetime earning potential by 80%, but 1 in 5 Filipino youth is unable to pursue higher education due to financial barriers. This is why #GrabPhilippines is proudly stepping up with #GrabScholars. In the recent awarding and contract signing, we proudly welcomed six new scholars into Wave 3 of our program—an initiative designed to make higher education accessible for deserving students. 💡📚 🎓 Our GrabScholars will receive: 👩🎓 Four years of full tuition assistance for their chosen universities 👨🎓 Monthly and book allowances to ease financial strain and support their success More than just financial aid, this is about creating opportunities and empowering the next generation of leaders, innovators and change makers. By removing barriers, we’re helping dreams take flight and investing in a brighter, more inclusive future for all. 🌟 #GrabScholars #QualityEducationForAll #NationBuilding #UpliftingLives

Adelene Foo couldn’t have said it better: "Innovation isn’t about technology; it’s about the people." She recently met with some of our Sarawakian partners and they are truly the reason behind why we do what we do 💚

Empowering Sarawak’s economy through Innovation & partnerships Last week, I had the privilege of meeting with our Sarawak partners, stakeholders, and media at our TechTarik Series - a casual conversation on impactful tech. It was a great experience that reaffirmed a core truth: innovation isn’t always about technology, it's about people. Behind every app feature, marketing campaign, or business strategy are real lives transformed by the power of technology. Since Grab’s launch in Sarawak in 2014, we’ve created earning opportunities for over 40,000 local driver-partners, including more than 60 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and over 700 women. In 2023 alone, these partners collectively earned over RM10 million through our platform. But numbers only tell part of the story—what truly inspires me are the personal journeys behind them. Here are just a few of the many stories that remind us why we do what we do: 💡 Sharipah Mazenah: At 59, this retired teacher became a Grab e-hailing driver, embracing the flexibility to stay active, support her family, and save for her future. 💡 Faizarino Bin Abu Bakar: From inspection officer to full-time delivery partner, Faizarino found a new way of life that offers financial stability and precious time with his family. 💡 Big Coconut: Once a single hawker stall, this homegrown business now thrives with eight outlets. 💡 Noms Signature: Starting from a humble food truck, Noms has grown to expanding across multiple cities in Sarawak. These stories of resilience and empowerment are a testament to the immense potential of the digital economy when paired with the right tools and support. At the TechTarik Series, we also looked to the future. Tourism is such a vibrant part of Sarawak’s identity, and I’m excited about how we can continue to showcase its unique culture, food, and experiences through collaborative innovation. I hope these conversations spark new ideas and partnerships as we work together to uplift communities and drive inclusive growth. When we empower individuals, we transform entire ecosystems. #TechTarik #GrabBersamaMalaysia #Sarawak #CommunityEmpowerment #DigitalEconomy #TourismMY

This is so wholesome… Alex Hungate and Daniel having a flippin’ good time together 💚 Our merchants know their businesses best and their feedback helps us come up with meaningful innovative solutions too 💡

    President & COO at Grab

Coastal Manado is Indonesia’s 29th biggest city by population and home to thousands of everyday entrepreneurs. Take Pak Daniel, who owns Buddy Burger, for example. He built his business from scratch, with a focus on good ingredients and friendly service. He has become the fastest growing restaurant chain in Manado by harnessing the power of Grab’s merchant offerings such as Ads and Dine-out Deals, and now he is expanding his business to other cities in Sulawesi. Bareng Grab, Makin Cuan. Sukses terus, Pak Daniel 🫶 🇮🇩 I rolled up my sleeves to assume cashiering duties (in between chatting with Daniel) to get a pulse on their operational workflow, from order receipts to collections by delivery riders. I learnt that there’s still more that we can do to improve. For example, Daniel also had some constructive feedback for me on how Grab could improve our integration with his point of sale system. He knows that Grab will respond to his ideas for improvement, because if everyday entrepreneurs like Daniel succeed, we succeed. Creating an open feedback loop with our merchants enables us to improve their experience on our platform. That’s why I enjoy spending time immersing myself in cities like Manado, to learn from our merchants, driver partners and local consumers. Take a peek at what Daniel and I got up to 👉 #entrepreneurship #supportlocal #suksesbersama
