Conventional computer programs won’t run on quantum processors and quantum developers are in short supply. “Our role is to make quantum computing accessible by building the tools with which people can use it in the real world,” says our CEO Joe Fitzsimons. https://lnkd.in/gdXkdteP
Horizon Quantum Computing
Software Development
Code, compile and deploy quantum applications from classical languages.
About us
We are pioneering an approach to quantum computing that allows users to write programs in classical languages that can be compiled and run on conventional or quantum computers, without any knowledge in quantum computing. Whether you are a software developer interested in quantum computing, or an expert who is highly proficient in quantum information theory, you'll be able to gain a quantum speedup without the need to understand the underlying computational model. Our compiler automatically constructs quantum algorithms from classical code, so you can develop quantum algorithms for new domains without deep quantum expertise.

What are you looking forward to in the next evolution of quantum computing? For our Chief Scientist, Dr Si-Hui Tan, it’s the interplay between software and hardware, and seeing where software could offer error mitigation or coding tools for quantum computers. This is an exciting time for quantum computing given all the improvements in hardware and error correction we are seeing, she said on the quantum computing panel on the main stage of the #TNWconference. You can watch the replay to learn why quantum computing is at the inflection point and what reasons pushed us, a quantum software pure player, to build a quantum hardware testbed. 🔒 https://lnkd.in/gM5A-gH4 The TNW conference was a blast with its warm and passionate audience, a great programme and insightful exchanges. Thank you to Nicole Holzmann and Shahar Graf for the great discussion on stage and to the organisers for all their work behind the scenes to make the conference a success.

Today Horizon’s team was at the #TNWconference, which can be dubbed as a festival of all things tech in Amsterdam. With 10,000 attendees, the sold-out 18th edition is already a success. Tomorrow the programme continues, with quantum computing set to occupy the main stage called Vision. Our Chief Scientist Dr Si-Hui Tan will be joining Dr Nicole Holzmann for a panel called “Quantum Leap: Accelerating Innovation Across Industries”, moderated by Quantum Delta NL’s Shahar Graf.

The #TNWconference in Amsterdam is kicking off in one week. Last year, our CEO Dr Joe Fitzsimons was featured in a TNW article where he shared: “With quantum computing, there’s not a real-world advantage today. It’s a milestone that’s coming — and hopefully, quite soon — but we still haven’t reached that point. For everyone in the space, it’s still about pushing technological progress as much as possible.” https://lnkd.in/g28AcqGG This year, our Chief Scientist Dr Si-Hui Tan will be on stage to talk about the substantial progress that the quantum computing field achieved just within a year and why this revolutionary technology is now at the inflection point. You can find more information about her fireside chat on the main stage here: https://lnkd.in/dRx92b3

Singapore announced a $300 million investment in quantum technologies slated for the next five years. MONEY FM 89.3's Lynlee Foo invited our VP of Product Amanda Chew to share Horizon’s perspective as one of the key industry players today. They discussed the current state of quantum computing as it stands and the newly announced National Quantum Strategy aimed at bolstering the research and talent-building efforts for the quantum technology industry, propping the city-state up as a leading player in quantum technologies globally. Amanda also shared her outlook on the quantum ecosystem in Singapore and what we do at Horizon to harness this promising technology. Find the full interview here: https://lnkd.in/gJrkeqhz

"Is quantum computing closer than we think?" Syahida Othman from CNA interviewed our Chief Scientist Dr Si-Hui Tan at #ATxSummit, where the Singapore government announced investing 300M SGD (222M USD) in quantum technologies over the next 5 years. For Dr Tan, quantum computing is at an inflexion point: 🔵 we're getting to very large quantum systems with thousands of qubits 🔵 we are seeing an improvement in error-correcting codes that have a much lower overhead in terms of resources needed to implement them These are milestones in getting us to quantum computers that can perform the applications we are interested in. https://lnkd.in/g2CpkrwM

"In terms of how to make use of quantum computing to actually solve real-world problems, it's not just a question of building good quantum computers. We also need the algorithms to be able to tackle those problems. It turns out that coming up with quantum algorithms is extremely difficult. So we built tools to try to make that easier." - our CEO Joe Fitzsimons on a Viva Technology panel moderated by Mark Fielding ✍️.

How do you make quantum computing easily accessible to domain experts? If you work in finance, aerospace, pharmacology or the energy sector, how does quantum computing become relevant to you... in other words, how do you solve real world problems? I moderated two panels during Viva Technology on quantum with the goal of finding out. Here Joe Fitzsimons of Horizon Quantum Computing outlines the challenges of quantum algorithms and how to make them simpler to use. If you want to take your quantum knowledge further, follow Thinking On Paper Podcast & Book Club, we will be running the Summer of Quantum season with special guests working in both #quantumcomputing and #quantum physics, as well as insight and possibly even workshops if we can think of way to make it work.
