Rachel Lee, a recipient of the SG Digital Scholarship, was drawn to the opportunity for postgraduate study and the unique benefits it offered like the freedom to choose their own company for the bond period, as well as the strong network of past scholars and industry partners provided by IMDA. She believes this support will nurture academic growth and empower her to contribute to Singapore’s media and digital economy. Studying New Media at Peking University, Rachel has gained insights into the Chinese media landscape, and plans to apply her learnings to enhance Singapore’s digitalisation efforts in the future. She is excited about the programme’s multidisciplinary approach, covering media psychology, communication theory, and ethics, which will be crucial for shaping her future in the industry. Looking ahead, she is eager to connect with international peers and industry mentors, using the experience and networks provided by the SG Digital Scholarship to drive innovation and progress to keep Singapore at the forefront of global media trends.
