The Institute of Valuers and Appraisers, Singapore (IVAS) was set up in 2013. The purpose of this initiative is to institutionalise and build a Business Valuation profession in Singapore. The APIEx Symposium 2024 brought together valuation and legal professionals to explore the theme - A Focus on Valuation in Dispute Contexts. Kok Keong Lie, IVAS Chairperson, delivered the opening remarks for Session 2: The Use of Information in Valuation Disputes – Legal and Practical Perspectives, setting the stage for a thought-provoking discussion on the role of information in valuation disputes. This week, the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) held its Annual General Meeting in Hong Kong, bringing together global valuation leaders to advance the profession. IVAS Chairperson, Kok Keong Lie and ACRA Assistant Chief Executive, Evan Law, had the opportunity to meet with the new IVSC Chair, Mrs Lim Hwee Hua during the AGM, discussing shared goals in enhancing valuation practices and fostering collaboration.
