🌟 KDF in the News: Supporting Low-Income Kidney Patients 🌟 A heartfelt thank you to Shin Min Daily News for featuring Mdm Lim, a kidney patient under the Kidney Dialysis Foundation's (KDF) Care. Mdm Lim, a 60-year-old woman diagnosed with kidney failure in 1996, delayed treatment for seven years due to financial concerns. In 2003, she finally started dialysis with KDF's help, paying a minimal amount. Thanks to a full subsidy for her treatment, Mdm Lim can now undergo dialysis without financial strain, allowing her to focus on her recovery. The article also mentioned that KDF recently raised $1.5 million through our two charity events, "Got To Walk 2024" and "Got To Goal 2024", to support the dialysis and medical expenses of needy kidney patients like Mdm Lim. These funds play a crucial role in ensuring access to affordable treatment and improving the lives of many. Thank you, Mdm Lim, for sharing your journey, and a big thank you to all donors and supporters for making a difference in the lives of our patients. #KDF #KidneyDialysisFoundation #KIDNEYSG #gottogoal2024 #gottowalk2024 #shinmindailynews

Got To Goal 2024: Healthier As One! A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who made Got To Goal 2024 a resounding success! From our Guest of Honour, Shawn Wei Zhong Huang, PBM, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Education & Ministry of Finance, and Pei Ling Tin, Member of Parliament for MacPherson SMC, to our sponsors, players, and teams – this incredible event wouldn’t have been possible without your unwavering support. Over the weekend, we raised $500,000 and welcomed close to 800 attendees! Together, we witnessed fantastic sportsmanship, competitive fun, and a strong sense of community under the theme "Healthier As One." Special mention to BIRKENSTOCK for the thoughtful gesture of donating their $250 prize money back to us. The donated prize money will support efforts to raise awareness about kidney health and help offset the high costs of dialysis for our needy patients. A big shoutout to the residents of Kovan and Paya Lebar CCC for their incredible support in helping to make our FUN'tastic family carnival a success! Last but not least, a special thank you to our venue partner @kickoffsg for the location, pitches and facilities over the past 2 days. This event would not have been possible without you! Congratulations to our Champions and MVPs – your dedication and skills truly shone on the field! Let’s keep this momentum going and continue to stay Healthier As One! 🌟 Raising Awareness: Diabetes and Kidney Disease 🌟 A heartfelt thank you to Berita Mediacorp Pte Ltd for featuring the journey of one of our patients, Mdm Bibah Binte Ghani, during their live broadcast aired on the evening of 28th November 2024. We also extend our deepest gratitude to Mdm Bibah, 74, for courageously sharing her story of managing Type 2 diabetes since she was 50. Her condition progressed to chronic kidney disease (CKD) due to high sugar intake and an unhealthy lifestyle, ultimately requiring dialysis by 2020. Her journey highlights the importance of early detection and prevention. At the Kidney Dialysis Foundation (KDF), we remain committed to supporting patients like Mdm Bibah and advocating for greater awareness of the importance of early detection and healthier lifestyle choices. In addition to dialysis, physiotherapy serves as a valuable complement, helping to reduce fall risks, enhance psychological well-being, and support better kidney health for all. Currently, 20% of KDF’s patients are from the Malay community, and we strive to continue spreading awareness about kidney health to help manage the rising trend of kidney disease, which is prevalent within the community. Let’s work together to spread awareness and encourage regular health screenings to protect our kidneys and overall well-being. 📖 Watch the video and read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/g3JjZ7qt https://lnkd.in/gkvDfz9b #DiabetesAwareness #CommunityCare #ChronicKidneyDisease #PreventionIsKey #KDF #KIDNEYSG #KidneyDialysisFoundation #KidneyHealth
