We are a social service organisation at the forefront of the battle against heart diseases in Singapore.
About us
Singapore Heart Foundation is a social service agency at the forefront of the battle against heart diseases in Singapore. Since its inception in 1970, the Foundation has grown into a well-established and reputable organisation with local and international links. Through strategic lifesaving programmes under the three core pillars of Prevention, Rehabilitation and Resuscitation, SHF fulfills its mission to promote heart health, prevent and reduce disability and death due to cardiovascular disease and stroke. In addition, SHF also offers financial assistance to needy heart patients for emergency relief and medical treatment. SHF is also a member of the World Heart Federation and has strong ties with other heart foundations in the Asia Pacific region. It has contributed to the inauguration of the International Chinese Heart Health Network and helped to launch the Asia Pacific Heart Network. In 1998, SHF hosted the 3rd International Heart Health Conference which culminated in the Singapore Declaration on Heart Health. With increased support from the public, government bodies and generous benefactors, SHF continues to play an increasingly important role in saving lives and promoting heart health in Singapore and the region through its various programmes. The following are some of the programmes that we run: - AED Loan Programme - Cardiac Rehabilitation and Heart Wellness - Community Education - Save-A-Life Initiative - School Programmes

We are deeply moved and inspired by the heartfelt thank-you video from Allkin Singapore. Their words of gratitude and the uplifting stories of lives positively impacted by our collective efforts are a powerful reminder of the truth - it is more blessed to give than to receive. The smiles and heartfelt testimonies shared in the video reaffirm the significant difference we are making together and ignite our passion to advance our mission: to empower and support individuals in achieving better heart health and a better quality of life. To all who journey with us in making a positive impact, THANK YOU for being part of this mission. #SingaporeHeartFoundation #SHF #YourHeartWeCare #Gratitude #MakingADifference #CommunityImpact Geoffrey Ong Huay Cheem Tan

Cardiac physiotherapy plays a crucial role in cardiac rehabilitation by enabling people with heart disease to exercise safely, improve their physical health and reduce the risk of future cardiac events. “Many people with a heart condition tend to be sedentary, with little experience of exercise. Consequently, some people experience fear and anxiety after a heart event and fear of exertion, while others may overexert beyond safe limits,” shares Gregory Fam, Senior Physiotherapist at the Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF). Discover more about the growing role of physiotherapy in Singapore’s healthcare landscape in this insightful article. #YourHeartWeCare #SHF #SingaporeHeartFoundation

The Singapore Heart Foundation is thrilled to announce the launch of the AED-on-Buses Programme with SBS Transit Ltd, enhancing community emergency response! This initiative is an extension of our AED-on-Wheels programme, which began in 2015 as part of the Singapore Civil Defence Force’s Save-a-Life initiative. With this new introduction, we are increasing the number of AED-equipped vehicles on the road to 441, ensuring that lifesaving assistance is always within reach. In the event of a cardiac arrest emergency on board a bus, trained Bus Captains and commuters can use the AED to provide immediate help before paramedics arrive. All participating Bus Captains are CPR-AED trained, reinforcing our commitment to empowering the community in times of need. Together with SBS Transit and SCDF, we are dedicated to making a meaningful difference in saving lives. Let’s ensure that help is always just a heartbeat away! 💪❤️
[SCDF Welcomes SBS Transit for the AED-on-Buses Programme] As part of SCDF’s efforts to strengthen community response to emergencies, we are excited to announce that we have partnered with SBS Transit Ltd to launch the AED-on-Buses Programme earlier today (8 Nov) 🎉 Launched in 2015, the AED-on-Wheels programme is an extension of the SCDF’s Save-a-Life initiative, which aims to enhance community first response to out-of-hospital cardiac arrest cases by increasing the availability of roving AEDs within the community. The SCDF - SBS Transit AED-on-Buses programme brings the total number of AED-equipped vehicles in the transport, logistics and courier industries to 441! The AED-on-Buses programme plays a vital role in providing lifesaving help, while providing transport services to the community. In the event someone suffers a cardiac arrest onboard a bus, an AED can be used by the SBS Transit Bus Captain or commuters to resuscitate the victim before SCDF’s Emergency Medical Services arrive. All SBS Transit Bus Captains are CPR-AED trained. This programme, in partnership with SBS Transit and sponsored by the Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF), reflects our shared commitment to enhancing community response and empowering the community to step up in times of need. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in saving lives and ensuring that help is always within reach 💪

Today, we made history with Institute of Technical Education College West as almost 1,000 students and staff participated in the largest-ever salt taste threshold test at our Heart Matters event (in celebration of National Heart Week/World Heart Day). The Heart Matters event aimed to encourage the proactive management of heart health, and to instill crucial cardiac emergency response skills. The enthusiastic turnout reflects a collective hope to reduce the lives impacted by heart disease, and of the commitment of these young minds to turn knowledge into practice for a heart-healthier Singapore. A big thank you to our Guest of Honour, Mr Don Wee, Grassroots Adviser to Chua Chu Kang GRC GROs (Brickland), for joining us in this groundbreaking and memorable event!

The Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF) is proud to have launched our Blood Pressure (BP) Awareness Kiosks as part of National Heart Week / World Heart Day (NHW/WHD) 2024. This initiative makes BP monitoring more accessible in community spaces, empowering many Singaporeans to take an active role in preventing cardiovascular disease (CVD). On 28 Sep 2024, we successfully hosted the Limbang-SHF Health Carnival near Yew Tee MRT. With the theme “Know Your Numbers” and the tagline “Score Right, Not High!”, the event featured mass workout sessions, cooking demonstrations, health talks, and interactive booths. We were honored to have Mr Ong Teng Koon, Second Advisor to Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC GROs (Limbang), grace the event, supporting our efforts in raising awareness and providing practical tools to combat hypertension and improve public health. #CardiovascularHealth #HypertensionAwareness #KnowYourNumbers #SingaporeHeartFoundation #CommunityHealth
