We recently hosted another SEAConnect session in Singapore in partnership with INSEAD, exploring Southeast Asia's vibrant startup and venture capital ecosystem. Our Investment Manager, Maansi Vohra, shared her perspective on transitioning from entrepreneur to investor, sparking thoughtful questions from students about the evolving landscape. Jia Jih Chai, Co-Founder and CEO of Rainforest, took us through his journey from software engineering to consulting, before finding his passion in entrepreneurship and angel investing. Conversations continued to flow over pizza and drinks afterward. A heartfelt thank you to INSEAD and Ari Menon for helping make this evening possible. Stay tuned for more SEAConnect events by following us on LinkedIn.

Last week, we co-hosted a gathering for Women in Financial Markets (WIFM) with our friends at B Capital . With women comprising more than half of our team at Monk's Hill Ventures, we understand that diversity isn’t a box to check, but a strategic imperative that drives varied insights and robust decision-making. Supported by Women in Financial Markets (WIFM), the event brought together nearly 50 remarkable female leaders in a demonstration of collective ambition and mutual support. The evening was a testament to the incredible potential that emerges when we break down barriers, challenge biases, and create spaces for genuine dialogue and empowerment. Heartfelt gratitude to our panelists: 🌼 Uma Thana Balasingam – Founder of THE ELEVATE GROUP and Lean In Network, Singapore, Uma is dedicated to rebalancing power dynamics and empowering the next generation of women leaders. 🌼 Sophie Mathur – Corporate lawyer inducted into the Legal 500 Asia Pacific Hall of Fame, Sophie continues to inspire through her achievements and unwavering commitment to advancing gender equality. 🌼 Valérie Mantot - Groene – Regional Managing Director who has single-handedly united DEI groups across Asia, amplifying collaborative change. We left feeling energized, inspired, and proud to stand alongside incredible women who continue to break barriers, challenge the status quo, and pave the way for future generations. We were proud to participate in Philippine Startup Week this year, celebrating the energy and innovation of the country’s vibrant and growing startup ecosystem. We kicked off the week by hosting a mixer in partnership with Accion Venture Lab, Aspire, Ideaspace Ventures, and the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines. It was a fantastic evening with meaningful connections and conversations with founders, investors, and ecosystem builders. Throughout the week, we attended demo days showcasing the next wave of promising startups and were inspired by their ingenuity and resilience. On the final day, our Principal, Arun Pai, took the stage during the Greenovation Nation segment to speak on "Driving Change: The Power and Potential of Impact Investing in Shaping a Better Future." Joined by Rodrigo Alarcón of ThinkPlace and Tina Di Cicco of Investible, their session explored how investors can create meaningful impact while driving returns. A big thank you to everyone who made the week unforgettable. We’re excited to continue supporting the Philippine startup ecosystem and look forward to building even stronger connections.
