Thanks for the article e27 (Optimatic).
A marine superintendent usually takes approximately 24 hours to perform an audit. This process includes: 🛳 Preparation time 🛳 Spending 7-8 hours on the ship itself 🛳 Writing the report and submitting it to the ship management system So, how can AI make this process easier, faster, and more efficient? Singapore-based Nautisense might have the answer. Find out in this interview with Dr Vinayak Prabhu. #maritimetech #AI #e27Stories

The 8th Smart Port Challenge (SPC) 2024 was launched today by Dr. Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Transport, Singapore and Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment at the InnovFest x Elevating Founders 2024, the start-up event of Asia Tech x Singapore . The SPC, an annual event organised by PIER71™, invites start-ups to propose innovative technology-driven solutions to address key challenges in the maritime industry. For the first time, #SPC2024 will be simultaneously launched in Singapore and several overseas partner markets. With the support from the extensive network of BLOCK71 Singapore and #MPA’s new regional offices, #PIER71™ will orchestrate six international roadshows across Asia, Europe, and North America to broaden participation, foster global partnerships, and raise awareness of Singapore's dynamic technology and innovation ecosystem, as well as its investment opportunities. This year’s competition features 14 challenge statements across four key areas: maritime green technologies, smart shipping, next-generation ports, and digitalisation. Both local and international #startups are invited to submit proposals by 8 July 2024. Shortlisted start-ups will undergo a 12-week PIER71™ Accelerate program and may be eligible for MPA Maritime Innovation and Technology (MINT) grant funding. The winners of the competition will be awarded cash prizes at the finals in November 2024. At the event, MPA awarded MINT grants to five #MarineTech start-ups from SPC2023. These grants will help support them in developing prototypes and solutions, including a platform for optimising and verifying biofuel blends, a mobile platform for real-time vessel activity monitoring in port, a cybersecurity solution for networks on board a vessel, a digital tool for enhanced ship inspection and auditing, and a digital twin for container depot operations. MPA is committed to nurturing Singapore's MarineTech ecosystem and aim to support the growth of MarineTech start-up to 150 by 2025 with our partners.
