On 30 November 2024, the historic Sultan Mosque became the heart of the Late Dr Muhammad Ariff Ahmad (MAS) Inaugural Commemorative Lecture & Special Book Launch. This milestone event honored the 100th birthday of Dr MAS, a visionary who dedicated his life to uplifting the Malay/Muslim community and beyond. Senator Datuk Seri Emeritus Prof Dr Awang Sariyan delivered an inspiring lecture, exploring Dr MAS’s enduring literary and philosophical legacy. The highlight of the day was the launch of the commemorative book, Permata Pendeta: Sempena Seabad Kelahiran Dr MAS, celebrating his profound contributions. We thank Mr Zainul Abidin Rasheed for officiating this special occasion and extend our gratitude to all who joined us in commemorating Dr MAS’s remarkable impact. Despite its prevalence, DLD remains widely unrecognised. Children with DLD face significant challenges with understanding and using verbal language, impacting their academics, relationships, and mental health. These difficulties occur even in the absence of conditions like autism or intellectual disabilities. DLD makes everyday tasks like expressing emotions, communicating in multiple languages, or following classroom instructions harder for affected children. But with the right support—such as simplified communication, visual aids, and professional intervention—children with DLD can thrive.
