NTUC Singapore is committed to uplifting PMEs across all sectors and driving meaningful progress for them. The MOU with GP+ Co-operative Limited reinforces our support for PMEs in the healthcare industry, addressing their transformation, workforce and business needs. 👏 A momentous MOU signing between National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and GP plus co-op We are very appreciative to have NTUC Assistant Secretary-General Patrick Tay Teck Guan witness the momentous occasion together with Singapore National Co-operative Federation (SNCF) CEO, Ang Hin Kee. As outlined in Patrick’s speech, this MOU signifies the 🤝 joint commitment of both parties wanting to do better, do more for their respective members by leveraging each other’s strengths. It was a partnership that took months to discuss and formalise, and we are encouraged that the progressive leadership in GP+ Co-operative (Chairman Yik Voon Lee, Advisor Dr Leong Choon Kit and key members) had contributed immensely to making this happen. Led by U PME team, and supported by our 𝗡𝗧𝗨𝗖 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 as well as NTUC U SME colleagues, we will support GP+ Co-operative’s transformation needs, as well as respective members’ business and workforce needs. With these support, the GP+ Co-op members will have more resources and bandwidth to continue providing dedicated healthcare services to their patients. After a bump in the road last year, our FDAWU-Food, Drinks and Allied Workers Union came together with Lazada put their heads together to work out pathways that allow workers to thrive and grow alongside the company’s business development and transformation. I'm pleased to see that NTUC and Lazada Singapore is embarking on a partnership to help their workers level up in areas such as leadership development, professional growth, and workforce capabilities. National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) will continue working hand-in-hand with companies to expand our support for PMEs by championing their needs and addressing workplace concerns. Together, we’re building a stronger future for all workers! #EveryWorkerMatters

Tripartism lays the foundation of our nation’s success by bringing together the government, employers, and unions to build a workforce that supports both workers and businesses. Last Friday, I joined the Tripartite Retreat with Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) and Ministry of Manpower as we celebrated the retreat’s 10th anniversary! It was an enriching session with frank and robust discussions on future opportunities for collaboration that will benefit all workers in Singapore. To create win-win outcomes for businesses and workers, National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) will continue to take action with our Tripartite partners, supporting economic growth through workforce transformation because #EveryWorkerMatters! For PMEs, businesses, and industry leaders - what initiatives from NTUC would best support you?

Singapore strengthens protection for platform workers with official recognition of NTUC Platform Work Associations The National Taxi Association (NTA), National Private Hire Vehicles Association (NPHVA) and National Delivery Champions Association (NDCA) have achieved a significant milestone - official registration under the Platform Workers Act, effective 7 January 2025. This development empowers these associations to legally represent approximately 67,600 platform workers, negotiate collective agreements, and enhance protection of workers’ interests. NTUC has long championed platform workers’ rights, from representing taxi drivers since 2010 to establishing dedicated associations for private-hire drivers (2016) and delivery riders (2020). This legal recognition marks a new chapter in our commitment to protecting platform workers’ livelihoods.
