About 170 property buyers, mostly Singaporean, are in a legal dispute with a property developer in Malaysia. Buyers are contesting that the property developer was not upfront about the sale terms and conditions, where buyers realized that they had bought their homes under a scheme called Private Lease Scheme (PLS). Based on Huttons Data Analytics, it is estimated that 1,000 HDB resale flat transactions will fetch $1 million or more by the end of 2024. As of Nov 2024, 931 of such transactions have been recorded, making up between 3%-4% of the total market transactions. Based on that record from 2021-2023, an average of 40 per cent of agents did not complete at least one residential property transaction.
