Over 100 seniors gathered at Martha AAC to enjoy a vibrant Christmas celebration filled with joy and connection. We were also excited to welcome 40 new members to the centre, making this festive occasion even more meaningful. The event featured a captivating medley performed by volunteers from Wesley Methodist Church, inspiring seniors to sing and dance along. A highlight of the day was a lively Spanish dance coaching session, where some seniors enthusiastically took the stage, spreading energy and cheer throughout the room. We were honoured to have Mr Jackson Lam, Grassroot Advisor for Hougang CC, join us and share in the festivities. His presence, alongside the efforts of Wesley Methodist Church, truly embodied the spirit of community and giving. At Presbyterian Community Services, we are dedicated to empowering seniors to lead healthy, purposeful lives through our Active Ageing Centres. 🎮🌟 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧! 🌟🎮 Congratulations to our amazing seniors! 👏 🥉 Sarah AAC – 3rd Place 🏅 Esther AAC – 4th Place 🏅 Martha AAC – 5th Place Today, seniors from our Active Ageing Centres—Sarah, Esther, and Martha, under Presbyterian Community Services—shone brightly at the International-Singapore Intergenerational Games (I-SING) organized by Nanyang Technological University Singapore (NTU)! 🎊 I-SING is a brilliant initiative that promotes intergenerational bonding and a healthy lifestyle for older adults through exergaming—a blend of exercise and gaming. Since its inception in 2016, this program has connected seniors across the globe, using digital fitness activities to encourage active ageing and foster meaningful cross-generational relationships. 🌏 🤝 Our seniors embodied the HIP lifestyle—Healthy, Interdependently, and Purposefully—showing that age is just a number when it comes to embracing new technology and staying active. 💪 Exergaming is not just fun—it boosts physical and cognitive health, reduces loneliness, and builds confidence in digital tools. At PCS, we advocate for seniors to live in place the H.I.P. way! Today, we mourn the loss of Elder Laurence Wee, a dedicated social service practitioner whose passion for helping others spanned over 40 years. His unwavering commitment to improving the lives of children, youth, families, the elderly, and the special needs left an enduring legacy. Elder Wee was a true advocate for the elderly through active engagements in community initiatives and served as a Nominated Member of Parliament to promote age-friendly policies. Elder Wee's association with Presbyterian Community Services (PCS) started with him serving as a volunteer Board Member for over two decades, sharing his expertise and guidance. In 1998, he took on the role of Executive Director, leading PCS to significant growth and expansion. Under his leadership, the organisation expanded its services to include childcare centres, eldercare centres, and partnerships, making a positive impact on countless lives. Even after his retirement on 1 July 2014, Elder Wee remained dedicated to serving the community. He continued to contribute his valuable insights as an advisor to PCS. Elder Wee’s legacy is one of service, compassion, and unwavering dedication. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
