This new series of reasoning models is designed to tackle complex problems with unprecedented accuracy and efficiency. 🔍 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗚𝗣𝗧 𝗼𝟭 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹? • 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴: These models spend more time thinking through problems before responding, much like a human would. This allows them to solve harder problems in science, coding, and math. • 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: In tests, the o1 model performed similarly to PhD students on challenging tasks in physics, chemistry, and biology. It also excelled in coding competitions, reaching the 89th percentile in Codeforces contests. • 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁: OpenAI has implemented a new safety training approach, making these models more effective at adhering to safety and alignment guidelines. The o1-preview model scored 84 on one of the hardest jailbreaking tests, compared to 22 for GPT-4o. 💡This release marks a significant step forward in AI capabilities, particularly for complex reasoning tasks.
