Knowledge exchange in action: Unpacking the latest developments in #accreditation🤝🌟 The Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) recently hosted our annual Certification Bodies Dialogue Session, bringing together 60 representatives from certification bodies and validation & verification bodies. Some key takeaways on accreditation and the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) sector included: 📈 Local trends show significant growth in the adoption of food and IT-related certification programmes, as well as an increased interest in sustainability areas (e.g., carbon footprint, sustainability reporting). 🚀 The 2023/2024 period saw the launch of several certification accreditation programmes, including facility management system certification and biorisk management audits. Additional programmes, such as AI management system certification and Data Protection Trustmark certification, are currently under development. 🌏 SAC is expanding its reach by signing new Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC) and International Accreditation Forum Inc MRAs on Validation & Verification Body and Asset Management which allows SAC accredited reports and certificates to be recognised in more than 100 economies. 🌐 The IAF CertSearch, which is the global database for accredited management system certifications, has achieved considerable progress, with a high level of participation from accredited certification bodies worldwide. The IAF CertSearch platform helps businesses verify the credibility of certifications, promoting transparency and trust in the global supply chain. During the event, Mr Noel Chau from the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) also shared valuable insights on the AI Verify Framework and its alignment with ISO/IEC 42001:2023, the international standard for #artificialintelligence management systems. This event underscores our commitment to keeping conformity assessment practices at the forefront of global standards. Our heartfelt appreciation goes to all attendees for their active participation and valuable contributions! We look forward to our next SAC engagement session. #SingaporeAccreditationCouncil #SAC #ConformityAssessment

Powering #innovation and #growth through Standards & Conformance (S&C) 🚀 At Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH) 2024, Enterprise Singapore hosted a panel that shared examples of how companies had successfully leveraged S&C to bolster growth and access new markets. Distinguished speakers, Jeremiah Decosta from Mirxes and Joseph Gan from V-Key - Stronger with V-OS, shared their insights on how S&C helped their companies become leaders in their respective fields. 🔬 S&C are vital catalysts for innovation as they provide frameworks for new ideas to germinate and technologies to evolve. For example, by co-developing a first-in-class national standard early in its product development process, MiRXES tapped on S&C to build investor confidence and speed up its commercialisation journey. ✈ Adopted smartly, S&C can be a passport for market entry. For example, being a young company at the start of its journey, V-Key adopted certifiable industry standards to boost its credibility and to validate its product quality to clients. In doing so, V-Key has been able to secure major projects internationally. A big thank you to our panelists for sharing your valuable insights. 🤝 Find out how your company can #KeepGrowing with S&C! 🔽 https://lnkd.in/drxuEycy Singapore Accreditation Council | Singapore Standards Council | Sauw Kook Choy | Aik Lam Khor | Cindy Ngiam | MingYuan Lim | Veron Huang | Sze-G Yeo | Jing Xian Chin #standards #accreditation #quality #trust #business #enterprise #growth #marketaccess

Last week, Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) organised an Assessor Sharing Session on the Site Investigation and Instrumentation & Monitoring (SIIM) programme under the Inspection Bodies Scheme (ISO/IEC 17020). This programme supports Building and Construction Authority’s regulatory regime in ensuring the competence of service providers. This session covered the latest developments in SIIM, keeping our assessor abreast of key changes. It also provided a good opportunity for SAC assessors and secretariat to harmonise practices for consistent application of accreditation requirements. Thank you to our facilitator, A/Prof Darren Chian, a member of SAC’s Technical Committee for SIIM, for leading the round table discussions. We hope our assessors found the session meaningful! The Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) joined the 2024 IAF-ILAC Joint Annual Meetings in Berlin, Germany! We had a fruitful experience exchanging best practices and sharing insights with colleagues from various economies and regions, while participating in key meetings and discussions during the International Accreditation Forum Inc (IAF) and International Laboratory Accreditation Co-operation (ILAC) meetings. The formation of Global Accreditation Cooperation (GLOBAC), as a result of the merger between IAF and ILAC, aims to take on a collective and holistic approach to address evolving global developments, strengthen capability building and create better synergy and harmonisation within the accreditation community. The Chairs and Vice Chairs of IAF and ILAC officially started the registration process of the GLOBAC with IAF and ILAC members in attendance. The 2024 IAF-ILAC Joint Annual Meetings emphasized on the importance of accreditation and conformity assessment in focus areas such as artificial intelligence (AI) and sustainability. To address the growing interests in AI, new work items and a taskforce have been created to explore new developments and harmonise accreditation practices. The community also highlighted increasing demand and the need to expand scopes for reliable sustainability information, as well as sustainability assurance frameworks. In addition to these areas, there are continued efforts to engage different public and industry stakeholders to tap onto accreditation MRA/MLA to support adoption across other sectors. We are also proud to announce that SAC has extended its IAF MLA to include Accreditation of Validation and Verification (ISO/IEC 17029). This recognition will further instil greater confidence in users of SAC accredited V/VBs services to address regulatory and industry needs. A big thank you to the organisers and IAF-ILAC representatives for a successful event! We look forward to meeting everyone in Thailand next year. #SAC #Accreditation #ConformityAssessment Yee Teck Tan Ham Eng Lee chong yong hui Andy W.
