Welcome to ScaleUp Bio’s LinkedIn channel! A Singapore pioneer, at ScaleUp Bio, we offer end-to-end contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) services in microbial precision fermentation, from lab to pilot scale, specifically for global food tech start ups. Our mission is to enable and empower these companies to deliver sustainable food solutions and ingredients utilising precision fermentation, through a commercial-centric and solutions oriented value chain. We support global food tech start-ups across their entire journey, from process optimisation to scale-up, and through our start-of-the-art, dedicated food-grade facilities which will soon provide customers with up to 10,000 L fermentation capacity. Moreover, we also provide access to a collaborative business growth ecosystem across our partners and parent companies. From research and development with Singapore’s Agency for Science Technology and Research (A*STAR), innovation and interaction with the food tech community at Nurasa’s Food Tech Innovation Centre (FTIC) and the Food Application Lab (with ADM) to test ingredients in different food matrixes, and go-to market entry and possible investment via Nurasa. ScaleUp Bio is a joint venture partnership between global nutrition leader ADM (Archer Daniel Midlands) and Nurasa, formerly Asia Sustainable Foods Platform, a company wholly owned by Temasek, and driven by its mission to accelerate the commercialisation and adoption of sustainable food across Asia. We wanted to share some important news regarding a leadership transition within ScaleUp Bio . We are pleased to announce that Aaron, Jiehan Yeo has been appointed as General Manager, effective 14 November 2024, to lead ScaleUp Bio’s operations, strategy, and commercial activities. Aaron brings a wealth of experience in global business development, leading operations in innovation hubs such as San Francisco, Shanghai, and Singapore. His expertise in the cultivated meat and precision fermentation sectors, combined with his work at the Singapore Economic Development Board, positions him to lead ScaleUp Bio as we continue to drive forward our strategy and growth. At the same time, after careful consideration, Francisco M. Codoñer, PhD, Executive MBA has personally decided to step down as CEO, effective 6 December 2024. We fully support Paco’s decision and are grateful for his leadership. Paco will continue to support Aaron during the transition in the coming weeks to ensure a smooth handover and continued momentum. With Aaron’s leadership, ScaleUp Bio remains committed to our vision of driving sustainable process manufacturing through Precision Fermentation. This week i had the pleasure to be at Future Food-Tech Lodon and learn more about how the ingredient and food innovations are moving forward. New companies, new faces, new friends, old faces, old friends, but on the top of that a lot of new ideas. Nurasa has been featured in an article by The Straits Times today, highlighting Singapore's increasing investment in fermentation technology as global interest in this field continues to grow. 🌍 The article explores how local research institutes are ramping up resources to support this emerging sector, in line with the global surge in funding for fermentation-based proteins. With global investments in fermentation surpassing both cultivated meat and plant-based proteins in the first half of 2024, Singapore is positioning itself as a key player in this growing industry. During the launch of Nurasa's Food Tech Innovation Centre in April 2024 our CEO XiuLing 秀玲 GUO 郭 also emphasised that precision fermentation has always been a “strategic interest,” given its ability to produce not just protein, but also other essential nutrients. At Nurasa, we share this vision and remain committed to accelerating sustainable nutrition for today and beyond. But our vision doesn’t stop here.
