The 2022/23 Season was one for the ages with lots of Silverware won both locally and regionally. In the National League, SCC Rugby Section brought home 3 out of 4 titles (National League Champions, Development League Champions & Shield Champions) Our Opens and Vets team also won the Gaulois 10s tournament respectively. One of our biggest overseas wins to date also had to be winning the Men’s Open competition at the Phuket 10s! With the 2023/24 season just around the corner, we’re in good shape to build on from last season with our Opens team going back to back winning the Gaulois 10s again and our 7s team taking victories at both Round 1 and Round 2 of the National Club 7s 2023 finishing overall Champions. The Rugby Section participates in the Singapore Rugby Union (SRU) league with four Teams competing in all three divisions. These are generally local players who have been through The SCC Rugby Academy and have now graduated into the senior squads. We have generously been given a number of auction items which we will be posting here and across various other social networks over the next 10 or so days hoping for bids. Auction Item #2 Wallabies 2003 Rugby World Cup signed Jersey The 2003 Wallabies went agonizingly close to winning the World Cup losing in extra time to that famous Johnny Wilkinson drop goal breaking the 14-14 deadlock. It was a team full of Australian greats with the likes of Burke, Larkham, Gregan, Mortlock and Giteau to name a few.
