🌟 Earnings Season Highlights! 🌟 This week marks the busiest earnings season in the US, and ASEAN is buzzing with activity too! Last night, JAPFA reported financial results for 9MFY24, with revenue up 3.7% to over US$3.4B, operating profit nearly tripling to US$293M, and EBITDA growing over 90% to US$375M. This growth was driven by improved margins and lower costs in key markets. Headquartered in Singapore, Japfa is a leading agri-food company listed at SGX Group, producing protein staples and consumer products across Asia. In early trading, Japfa’s stock surged by 10% to 40 SGD cents, ranking it among the top 25 most traded stocks. P/E is 7.8x and ROE is 10%. While the stock usually ranks among the top 100 traded by turnover, this year it also ranks among the top 40 by net institutional fund flow. Prior the today's gain, the past 5 years had seen Japfa deliver a 47% total return, paralleling the Bloomberg Agriculture Sub-Index at 40%. CEO Tan Yong Nang highlighted significant profitability improvements since early 2024, driven by strong performances from PT Japfa Tbk and APO-Vietnam. With higher sales volumes and lower costs, Japfa’s 9MFY24 results set a solid foundation for year-end. Japfa also declared a one-off interim dividend of 1.0 SGD cent per share, attributed to their robust performance and stronger balance sheet. #EarningsSeason #Japfa #FinancialResults #AgriFood #Innovation #SGX #MarketTrends #BusinessGrowth #InvestmentNews #Leadership #Investing #Markets #SGListCos

Yesterday afternoon, over 40 C-suite leaders from SGX-listed companies and members of the WorkWell Leaders (WWL) network gathered for an exclusive fireside chat with one of Singapore’s most respected thought leaders, Professor Tommy Koh. Co-hosted by SGListCos and WWL, the event presented an opportunity for participants to engage with a figure whose influence spans decades of diplomacy, leadership, and advocacy for a more inclusive and sustainable society. SGListCos expresses its deep gratitude to Professor Koh for sharing his time and insights, and to all attendees for making this session a thought-provoking and meaningful experience.   Professor Koh, Ambassador-at-Large at Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been at the heart of some of the most challenging negotiations in modern history. But rather than focus on geopolitics, he shared with the audience a much more personal side of leadership: the internal transformation leaders must undergo to drive meaningful change. His message was clear that true leadership begins with self-awareness and a commitment to personal wellbeing.   Moderated by Anthea Indira Ong, chairperson of WWL, the session seamlessly blended personal anecdotes with practical leadership insights. Professor Koh’s skill in connecting global diplomacy to everyday leadership challenges was particularly impactful, offering participants valuable new perspectives. As the fireside chat drew to a close, there was a palpable sense of reflection in the room. Many attendees spoke about how Professor Koh’s words had prompted them to rethink their own leadership approaches, particularly in relation to their teams' wellbeing. Several C-suite leaders shared their renewed commitment to fostering healthier, more resilient work environments, inspired by the practical wisdom Professor Koh imparted.   The event sparked a strong desire among the attendees for continued dialogue, with many expressing hopes for further opportunities to engage with Professor Koh. His perspectives on leadership, drawn from years of navigating both personal and global challenges have left a lasting impact, making it clear that the journey towards creating thriving, resilient organizations is one that must begin from within. #mentalhealth Bob Grove Annika Mock Alice, Chern Chern, Gwee (魏少稹) Chong Lek Foong Peggy Chin Pei Qi Serena Lim Sian Chin Phua Manfred Seah Long Jong Chang

The more tradable aspects of our markets have been on show over the past 3 weeks. Grateful for the interest from our Member Firm Brokers and Remisiers, SPH Media and Mediacorp Pte Ltd to profile the China-related stocks & markets. From Sep 20 to Oct 9, our 20 most traded stocks with 50%+ Greater China revenue averaged 22% total returns, which paralleled the FTSE China A50 20% and CSI 300 24% total return. The FTSE China A50 Index booked record Open Interest on Oct 8 and Singapore's Lion Global-OCBC Hang Seng Tech ETF and A-share ETFs have seen record trading volumes. En masse investor engagement on Saturday with PhillipCapital was my highlight with Amanda Huang, Paul Chew and Gina Yeo. Can't help but be inspired by former colleague Jamie Chung timely pitch Structured Warrants, before their trading turnover reached a 5+ year high three sessions later and former colleague Marcus Ng pitching the new US Stock DLCs he has worked so hard to deliver for local traders. Amazing that our most traded DLC today is... Tesla! SGX Group FTSE Russell, An LSEG Business Lion Global Investors #singapore #teamwork #trading #stocks #etfs #markets

The Corporate Governance Conference Week 2024 commenced on Monday. Themed "The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Corporate Governance and Sustainability on Key Stakeholders," brought together industry leaders to explore how AI is reshaping corporate governance and sustainability efforts. Key discussions centered on leveraging AI to enhance decision-making, streamline operations, and drive sustainability initiatives, particularly in climate and supply chain governance. However, the challenge of overcoming "ESG fatigue" was a recurring theme, with experts emphasizing the need for clear communication and tangible outcomes to maintain stakeholder engagement. The conference concluded with a call for organizations to balance technological innovation with robust ethical governance and a commitment to long-term sustainability goals.   We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the speakers and panellists who shared their invaluable insights, enriching the discussions with their expertise and perspectives!
