Homegrown Humanitarian Organisation. Serving Humanity & Saving Lives since 1949.
About us
The Singapore Red Cross is a homegrown humanitarian organisation dedicated to relieving human suffering, protecting lives and dignity and responding to emergencies. We serve the vulnerable through our blood donor programme, Home and Day Activity Centre for the Disabled, community befriending, medical chaperone and transport service, Meals with Love, and Community First Aid, and we build capacity and resilience through our training academy, and volunteer and youth development. Beyond our shores, we mobilise and translate contributions from the donor community to relief and recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts, with the aim of helping communities affected by disasters. Here are some ways to give and get involved with the Red Cross: Become an Employee: You can make a difference every day. No matter what your interests are, you'll find something that you enjoy at the Red Cross. Work with us to mobilise the Power of Humanity. Volunteer: You can make a difference, by volunteering your skills or time. For instance, you can comfort an isolated elder or teach first aid to children. Whether you are interested in community services or international services, you'll find something of interest. Donate: You have the power to make a difference in someone's life. All you have to do is make a contribution. Every donation at redcross.sg helps provide services to the vulnerable. Give Blood: You can be a lifeline for patients who need blood transfusions. Even if you can’t give, you can spread the word or help organise a blood drive. Visit giveblood.sg to find out more!

On World Blood Donor Day this past weekend, the Singapore Red Cross and Health Sciences Authority recognised 1,961 committed blood donors and 23 blood champion organisations for their pivotal role in saving lives and their continuous support for the National Blood Programme. The theme of this year’s event was “Champions in the Community”. The Awards were presented by Guest of Honour Ms Rahayu Mahzam, Minister of State (MOS), Ministry of Communications and Information & Ministry of Health, in the morning, and by Special Guest Member of Parliament for Jalan Besar GRC Dr Wan Rizal Bin Wan Zakariah in the afternoon, at a ceremony held at Marina Bay Sands. During the ceremony, MOS Rahayu launched the #YouthInspired initiative, aimed at encouraging youths aged 16 to 25 to support the National Blood Programme through building connections, organising events and campaigns, and participating in volunteer work to champion blood donations. ZALORA is proud to partner with the Singapore Red Cross for a special two-day charity bazaar from 3 to 4 July 2024! The event celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Singapore Red Cross while showcasing ZALORA’s commitment to sustainability and support for meaningful community causes, with all bazaar proceeds going directly to the Singapore Red Cross' local humanitarian services for vulnerable persons and families. The products available at the bazaar are brand new but have quirks that do not meet ZALORA’s stringent quality standards. Rather than contributing to fashion waste, ZALORA has chosen to donate these one-of-a-kind pieces to the charity bazaar. This allows sustainability-conscious shoppers to find amazing fashion treasures while charitable causes. “At ZALORA, we are dedicated to being a force for good in the communities that we operate in and call home. By partnering with local charities and organisations like the Singapore Red Cross, we aim to support meaningful causes around the Southeast Asia region while reducing our environmental footprint", shared Arvind Devadasan, Head of Sustainability, ZALORA Group. In response to the ongoing floods in #SriLanka, the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) is sending SGD50,000 in humanitarian aid, and a team of five staff and volunteers to support relief and recovery operations by the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS). The contribution will support the SLRCS in delivering immediate relief, such as safe drinking water, clean-up initiatives, medical camps in flood-affected areas, immediate first aid assistance, and non-food items to displaced families. “In the aftermath of the floods, Sri Lanka faces the dual challenge of addressing the immediate effects of the floods and the looming threat of a dengue epidemic. Unfortunately, the stagnant water from the floods created breeding grounds for mosquitoes, raising concerns about a potential outbreak in the coming weeks. Beyond addressing the most immediate needs, we are focused on supporting dengue awareness initiatives for vulnerable communities, to mitigate the public health risk,” said Mr Benjamin William, Secretary General/CEO, Singapore Red Cross. The team deployed to Colombo from 21 to 27 June will be conducting needs assessment for affected communities and supporting humanitarian operations by assisting in medical camps and distributing non-food items to displaced communities. I do not want my son to undergo the same hardship as I did,” he shares.
