What a fantastic way to spend Friday, hosting the Senior Staff and Center Heads from Singapore Polytechnic at HP! We had an engaging demonstration on how HP leverages technology to drive innovation in our advanced manufacturing operations and our thought leadership in sustainability. This exchange of ideas focused on enhancing the sustainability, manufacturing, and skills ecosystems. Both HP and SP have deep roots in Singapore - I’m an SP alumnus myself - and we see great opportunities for further collaboration that can ultimately benefit SMEs. Our guests also enjoyed a tour of the HP Customer Welcome Center. Special thanks to Stephanie Yoon & In Gu Gabriel KIM for staying beyond lunch to showcase the enhanced experience of setting up new laptops, the applications of AI PC, and our sustainability practices, which goes beyond Green. Makino Asia had the privilege to join the Advanced Manufacturing Learning Journey (SP-AMLJ) hosted by SP - Advanced Manufacturing Centre and Advanced Manufacturing Employees' Union recently. The entire showcase felt extremely pragmatic, from how the lab was remodeled minimally from an existing facility for the same purpose, to some down-to-earth innovations with tangible benefits for conventional workshops, to an advanced manufacturing setup which correlates closely with our homegrown Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI). The learning journey touch points felt well designed to allow industry participants to relate to them, regardless of where each is along his journey towards advanced manufacturing. The SP team also teased about future additions to the narrative which we will be more than eager to see unfold. We are thrilled to share with 30 visitors from manufacturing industry on i4.0 solutions, smart industry readiness index (SIRI), SP-CWT and other programmes for SMEs in the recent visit to SP-AMLJ and Innovation Centre for additive manufacturing (ICAM). Interestingly, they had a chance to immerse into light-out manufacturing with minimum operator intervention. They also got a glimpse into sustainable manufacturing that the centre is working on to minimise environmental impacts while conserving energy and natural resources in our workshops.
