Over 12,000 fans roared the Lions on as they participated in friendlies against Myanmar (14 November) and Chinese Taipei (18 November) at the National Stadium. The Lions secured an amazing comeback 3-2 victory against Myanmar, before a narrow 3-2 loss to Chinese Taipei. Ahead of the 14 November match, the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) introduced a new Stadium Code of Conduct (COC) to enhance the matchday experience. This COC applies to all football matches organised in Singapore by FAS. Our teams, who worked closely with FAS, are heartened that the National Stadium is the first-ever venue in Singapore to host a football match with the newly implemented COC. The Lions begin their ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup Group A campaign against Cambodia on 11 December at the National Stadium. They will face Thailand at the same venue on 17 December. Mark your calendar and come support the Lions! Photo Credits: FAS Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) Sport Singapore

Our iconic green, blue and red 100PLUS Promenade is a shared space for all to gather, be it for sport, recreation or simply to hang out. For father-son duo Howard and Ryan, it is a safe haven for spending time together and connecting with others – especially those with special needs. Howard and Ryan, a person with Down Syndrome, are part of Runninghour Co-Operative, an inclusive sports community that promotes the integration of persons with special needs through sports and activities such as yoga, hiking and running. While Ryan runs, Howard serves as a volunteer guide, assisting, encouraging and looking after participants who could do with a little additional support. He and Ryan regularly participate in Runninghour’s group activities at Singapore Sports Hub, and Howard has even organised group hiking trips overseas – an endeavour he and Ryan likely would not have undertaken without support. Runninghour exemplifies how community can lend strength to individuals. On 29 October, we lit up the National Stadium in brilliant blue to support the Stroke Services Improvement Team to commemorate World Stroke Day. Stroke is the fourth leading cause of death in Singapore, with one in four people likely to suffer from it in their lifetime. It’s important to know the causes that can lead to a stroke, be able to identify the symptoms, and understand more about the neurological condition. We stand in solidarity with the local community affected by stroke, their families and those who care for them. 💙 Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) Sport Singapore

It is not often that one gets to combine passion with profession but Zulhelmy Zulkhairi, Senior Executive, Venue Operations, at Singapore Sports Hub is livin’ and loving it! Zul is a tennis enthusiast. His love for tennis started at a young age, inspired by weekly family tennis sessions and his father’s passion for the sport. Knowing Zul’s love for tennis, Mitch Seeto, Head, Venue Operations, encouraged him to pursue a role at the Kallang Tennis Hub (KTH) where he can pass on his enthusiasm for the sport and support the next generation of tennis players. Since the facility opened in April 2024, Zul and the KTH team have played host to numerous events including the National School Games Tennis ‘A’ Division Finals, the Asian Tennis Federation 12&U Team Competition and Pesta Sukan 2024. Zul and the KTH team are looking forward to hosting the prestigious WTA 250 tournament in January 2025. He hopes the tournament will ignite greater interest in the sport. Mando and Cantopop rules! Even with seven sell-out shows at the Singapore Sports Hub - four by “Heavenly King” Andy Lau at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, and three by “King of Mandopop”, Jay Chou at the National Stadium - thousands of die-hard fans could not get enough of their “King”. And neither disappointed their fans! Nostalgic hits that resonated with Lau and Jay’s multi-generational fans filled the venues and there is no doubt many magical memories were created each night. More pop, hip hop and rap to come as Dua Lipa, Imagine Dragons and electrifying Taiwanese band, Energy, perform at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in the coming months. In sport, the world’s best swimmers will take to the pool at the OCBC Aquatic Centre for the highly anticipated World Aquatics Swimming World Cup 2024, while elite squash players do battle in the Vitagen Singapore Squash Open 2024 at the OCBC Arena. There’s something for everyone to enjoy at Sports Hub!
