At the Global Economic Policy Forum 2024, Rajeev Peshawaria, CEO of Stewardship Asia Centre, shared powerful insights on the challenges of our time and the need for Steward Leadership. Here are the highlights from his discussion: 🤖 In AI and technology, innovation without ethics sparks tough questions. Are autonomous weapons patriotic or dangerous? Are gamified trading apps clever or exploitative? Rajeev emphasised the need for Ethical Integrity to ensure technology uplifts humanity. 🌱 On sustainability, despite $40 trillion in ESG funds, we’re still consuming resources at unsustainable levels, with climate crises worsening. The key is to align purpose with profit through innovative, profitable solutions, shifting the narrative from cost to opportunity. ⚖️ Inequality is another urgent issue. With 1% of the population owning twice the wealth of the other 99%, businesses must embrace interdependence – recognising that their success is tied to the well-being of others. Purpose-driven businesses, Rajeev noted, thrive in the long run. Steward Leadership provides a path forward: maximum purpose, maximum profit. Are we ready to lead the change?
