  • What if the key to thriving businesses wasn’t just maximising profits, but also prioritising the well-being of stakeholders, society, future generations, and the environment? From the evolution of business models to the untapped potential of communities as drivers of growth, Professor Arnoud De Meyer, Chairman of the Board at Stewardship Asia Centre, challenges us to rethink what true success really means. While effective markets require regulation, communities also have a vital role to play in self-regulation. Historically, communities have been powerful stewards of resources, and with the right balance of autonomy, diversity, social trust, and locality, they can flourish. He shares his insights on Stewardship Commons, our crowdsourced hub for innovative ideas and discussions on sustainable business practices. I ate about 10 different dishes of edamame and sago today… These are some of the products that PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Tbk. make and during my visit today I got to try Papuan inspired food 😋 It gave me a taste of what it would feel like if I visited Papua, which is where the Koperasi Simpan (savings cooperative), a winning solution from the #SL25 awards, is implemented! It aims to increase financial literacy and financial inclusion in the Kais & Metamani communities. Through my conversations with Pak Lucas Kurniawan, Ibu Nunik Maharani Maulana and Pak Arianto Wibowo, I learnt that the Koperasi Simpan is now able to run independently, is profitable, and continues to uplift the community! Thank you to everyone at ANJ for the hospitality and insightful learning session. A huge thanks to Nita Janita Ekaniana and her team for coordinating this 💙

  • "When your thinking shifts from "What can I take?" to "What can I give?"—that’s when you truly become an asset, not just to yourself, but to humanity as a whole." In the first episode of Maximum Purpose, Maximum Profit, Rajeev Peshawaria, CEO of Stewardship Asia Centre, and Neil Humphreys, freelance radio host, author, and board member of Jane Goodall Institute (Singapore), had the incredible honor of sitting down with Dr. Kiran Bedi, India’s first female police officer and former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. This must-listen episode is all about how to lead with heart, and turn good intentions into powerful, lasting results for stakeholders, society, future generations and the environment. Catch the full episode in the comments! 👇

  • What does purpose-driven leadership look like in action? 🌏 Our SAC team, Rajeev Peshawaria, Joanna Soh, and Abigail Chan, recently visited Ujala Cygnus Kashmir in Srinagar and Bhutan, witnessing firsthand how steward leaders are reshaping healthcare and economic models to serve communities, not just bottom lines. 🏥 Srinagar: At Ujala Cygnus Kashmir, no patient is turned away due to financial constraints—it’s even a fireable offense to do so. Dr. Shuchin Bajaj and Dr Pervez are leading a powerful shift: dissociating quality healthcare from financial, geographic, and social barriers. Their cross-subsidy model prioritises high-cost, low-volume care, keeping services sustainable while serving those most in need. 🏔️ Bhutan: Bhutan’s approach to leadership is built on love, compassion, and kindness, with Gross National Happiness embedded in governance. Our team explored Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), a visionary Special Economic Zone that aligns economic growth with Bhutanese values, what some call “mindful capitalism.” A special highlight was learning about the Bhutan Baccalaureate from Arun Kapur, the architect behind its curriculum, which seamlessly integrates international education with Bhutanese principles. Meanwhile, Xinhong Lim, Ph.D., MD of GMC, shared his vision for the city’s development. They were also honored to connect with like-minded changemakers like Justin Milano and Dorji Wangchuk PhD, who champion leadership that goes beyond business success to drive meaningful change. These experiences reaffirm the power of steward leadership, where businesses aren’t just built for profit, but to sustain communities for generations. A heartfelt thank you to our hosts and the incredible minds shaping the future of Srinagar and Bhutan. 🙏

  • What’s the cost of greenwashing? 💰 More than just fines (see: The Week https://lnkd.in/d2sGgMtk) — it’s lost trust, damaged reputation, and a fragile future. In an era of transparency, companies clinging to short-term profits over stewardship are paying a steep price. From billion-dollar scandals to consumer backlash, the risks of ignoring sustainability have never been higher. But what if there was a better way? In The Business Executive Network Vietnam Magazine, Rajeev Peshawaria, CEO of Stewardship Asia Centre, shares why Steward Leadership—rooted in interdependence, long-term thinking, ownership, and resilience—is key to corporate longevity and real impact. Ready to rethink leadership for a sustainable future? Read the full interview here! 🔽

  • How can investors bring nutrition to life beyond dollars and cents? At the NCN x Nurasa 2025 Investor Meeting, our Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager, Annisah Smith, joined a dynamic panel alongside Alina Boey (Chief of Staff, Nurasa), Didier Toubia (Co-Founder & CEO, Aleph Farms) and Malcolm Omond (Senior Director, Workplace Experience, APAC, Google) to discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping this evolving space of food-tech and wellness. She highlighted the critical role of steward leadership in tackling food security, nutrition, and climate change. As mission-driven startups, forward-thinking investors, and cutting-edge innovations converge, they are laying the groundwork for a more sustainable and resilient future. A big thank you to Nurasa for hosting! We’re excited to see how these conversations drive real impact. 🌱
