  • 🚨WHO Recognizes Dengue Virus as a High Pandemic Risk🚨 Dengue virus was added to the World Health Organization's list of the most dangerous viruses and bacteria in their latest update made earlier this year in June. This list, formulated by over 200 scientists from more than 50 countries, encompasses #pathogens they believe have a high likelihood of threatening to cause the next #epidemic and #pandemic. #Dengue was considered to have a high public health emergency of international concern (#PHEIC) risk in every global region. Why is Dengue Dangerous? • Highly Transmissible: Spread by mosquitoes, Dengue affects millions and claims the lives of thousands annually. These numbers only worsen with global warming, increased urbanization, and after natural disasters 🦟 • Severe Health Impact: Can cause severe flu-like symptoms and, in extreme cases, lead to dengue hemorrhagic fever which is life-threatening without proper treatment 💉 • Limited Treatments: No specific antiviral treatment is available, making prevention and early detection crucial 🕒 The purpose of this list is to identify priority pathogens for organizations to focus their efforts on. These are diseases that we need to develop treatments, vaccines, diagnostics, and other solutions in the event of a country or worldwide outbreak. StratifiCare is answering this call-to-action! Our product, #StratifiDen, is one of these solutions. StratifiDen can help hospitals identify patients in advance in those extreme cases that will develop dengue hemorrhagic fever. This is vital to the early differentiation of Dengue patients who require intense hospital care from patients who can receive treatment at home. StratifiDen is a revolutionizing solution to the high-risk Dengue fever that can save lives and resources for both patients and hospitals. Help us get our solution to the deadly Dengue virus out to the world! 🌎 World Health Organization (WHO) World Health Organization South-East Asia https://lnkd.in/dTWw8uYj

  • 🌟Highlights from Echelon X🌟 We were honored to be invited to participate in Echelon X at Prudence Foundation’s Pavilion alongside other startups in the SAFE STEPS D-Tech Community. These consist of startups dedicated to technologies that can aid in the impact of natural disasters, prevent them, or expedite recovery efforts. 🚑 Our Co-founder and CEO Anthony Chua was given the opportunity to present how our product #StratifiDen is making a difference in communities affected by natural disasters. Following events such as floods or hurricanes, there is an abundance of standing water that becomes the perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes. This leads to an outbreak of #Dengue fever. Hospitals already caring for patients injured during the disaster or infected by waterborne diseases become even more overwhelmed by Dengue fever patients, most of whom can be treated at home. This depletes hospitals of space, supplies, and caretakers. StratifiDen can accurately identify if a patient will develop severe Dengue and require hospitalization. This allows hospitals to provide necessary care to the patients that need it most while saving time and hospital beds when these resources are the most vital. 🩺 🏥 Thank you to the Prudence Foundation and e27 (Optimatic) for hosting this event and their partners the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies - IFRC and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Special thanks to the Prudence Foundation SAFE STEPS D-Tech Program for sponsoring us. We appreciate the opportunity to bring awareness to solutions to post-disaster disease #outbreaks. This program is pivotal in driving advancements that can save lives and mitigate the impact of natural disasters. We are proud to have been part of such an impactful initiative and contribute to the collaborative effort against natural calamities. 🤝 #EchelonX #SAFESTEPSDTech #DisasterTech #DisasterResponse

  • 🚨Don't underestimate Dengue! 🚨 Climate change, urbanization and air travel are fueling its spread, posing serious health risks globally. Learn why you should care and how to protect yourself in this informative video by Dr Raman Velayudhan from World Health Organization 🌐As #Dengue fever continues to capture media attention with daily increase in case counts, it is indisputable that Dengue will persist in its spread, impacting an increasing number of individuals. Stratification serves a crucial role in discerning the critical subset of patients, constituting less than 5% of all infected individuals, who will progress to develop severe Dengue. This aids hospitals by optimizing resource allocation, conserving beds for patients exhibiting greater clinical urgency. Dr. Velayudhan delves into the causes contributing to the spread of the disease, revealing the supportive treatment options. Protect yourselves and people around you by focusing on eliminating mosquito breeding sites by removing stagnant water, using insect repellent, wearing protective clothing, and employing mosquito nets, especially during the daytime when Aedes mosquitoes are most active. 🌟 Our proudest innovation, #StratifiDen, is a game-changer in the battle against the rising threat of Dengue epidemics worldwide. With the Dengue epidemic once again gripping nations like Brazil and Peru, it is crucial to have proactive solutions in place. Our ground-breaking severe Dengue prediction test empowers healthcare professionals to identify high-risk patients swiftly and early, saving crucial time and resources in the fight against this deadly disease. Together, let's pave the way for a healthier, more resilient future. #DenguePrevention #PublicHealth #Innovation #Healthcare 🌍💉🔬
