𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 We've produced a detailed white paper that proves a strong link between a company's accounting quality and returns on its share price. We employed our 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞 to generate accounting risk scores for each of the 60,000+ companies in our database. Companies were sorted into deciles based on their risk scores, with decile 1 containing companies with the lowest risk, and decile 10 companies with the highest risk. The median future 12-month return was calculated for each decile. The chart below shows increasingly worse returns as accounting risk increases. The difference in the future returns between the decile for lowest risk and that for highest risk is 26.7%.
