I've booked KSL D'Esplanade Residence many times. Usually the check in is very swift & I would contact the host by what's app. However on the day of the check in. I am unable to reach the host for my check in details. I had to go through Trip.com to help me get the host contact. Check in was terrible! Imagine if I'm already at the place. I have to wait for my check in details. It's such a waste of time!
On top of that the host request for deposit (RM200) & my photo ID. I have book the place for many times & this is my FIRST time been asked for this.
I would understand if a normal hotel with a check in counter requested my ID details. However this is an apartment and I feel VERY UNSAFE providing my personal details as I am unsure where my details would be used in.
Nevertheless I provided as I needed a place to crash in. And the deposit purpose the reason they gave was
"Incase access cards or parking pass lost..it's trouble for us..need to apply to Management Body (JMB ksl) and wait for replace a new cards"
Last but not least. The deposit was mentioned will be refunded within a day. It took them 2 days to refund & I have to follow up on that. Overall the stay was terrible just for a 1 NIGHT STAY!
