Today marks the opening of the Christmas Market in front of Helsinki Cathedral! A giant Christmas tree stands in the center of the square, and the place is bustling with people. The carousel and various colorful lights illuminate the entire market. It's recommended to visit during sunset to the blue hour for a more romantic winter atmosphere. For a panoramic view, you can walk up the steps to the cathedral's entrance, which offers the best vantage point overlooking the market square. The street directly facing the square is a classic spot for photos, often featured in Helsinki's official tourism promotions. Try to capture a green tram passing by for the perfect shot. From the market square, you can walk to the illuminated Christmas sculptures in Esplanadi Park or continue along Aleksanterinkatu Street to Kamppi or the Central Railway Station, where the light installations are stunning!
