Sukhothai Historical Park (Old Sukhothai City)

Sukhothai Historical Park has been declared the 574th World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Sukhothai Kingdom began its history with clear evidence during the reign of King Sri Indraditya (Pho Khun Bang Klang Hao, 1238 - 1279 AD). The kingdom reached its peak during the reign of King Ramkhamhaeng the Great. During his reign, the kingdom's power was solidified as he expanded its territory. Thai culture flourished in all aspects, as evidenced in the first stone inscription, which highlights advancements in history, warfare, geography, law, traditions, governance, economy, society, philosophy, Buddhism, the invention of the Thai script, and more. The dynasty of King Sri Indraditya (Phra Ruang or Sukhothai) ruled the Sukhothai Kingdom for 200 years before it was incorporated into the Ayutthaya Kingdom. The layout of Sukhothai city is rectangular, approximately 2 kilometers long and 1.6 kilometers wide, with city gates in the middle of each wall. Inside, there are remnants of palaces and as many as 26 temples. The largest temple is Wat Mahathat. This historical park has been restored by the Fine Arts Department with assistance from UNESCO. It attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. Tourists can conveniently and safely explore the park on foot, by tram, or by bicycle. Come for an evening bike ride and enjoy the classic atmosphere. Special on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sukhothai Historical Park, there is a market where you can sample and enjoy various traditional snacks and foods. Don't forget to visit!

Sukhothai - Thailand: If visiting Sukhothai Historical Park before sunset, you will be surprised with this stunning view. This is one of the ancient sites in Thailand with 6 hours drive from Bangkok or we can just take a flight there. This is one of my memorable trips!
