Why is this called "Season One"? Is it not a finished story yet?

Ghostpia is a surreal visual novel that is densely packed with meaning. It's themes are clear, but how each scene ties into those themes sometimes isn't. On my first experience, Episode 4's plot felt a bit dramatic, and I was confused as to why so much of Episode 5 centred around AI. Similarly, I wondered about the relevance of the movie and the 'real life' scenes. So here is my theory: Ghostpia is a simulation. i really like this game don't get me wrong but that's the one thing that's always stuck out to me as really out of left field and unneeded. i understand WHAT they're trying to illustrate with it - the power imbalance between those two characters / the manipulative nature of that character and demonstrate they're evil (presumably - that's just what i was gathering from it) but like???? it's not like this game is incredibly wholesome the whole way through or anything, but it all feels generally quite lighthe...

I just eagerly sat down to play it, but I'm getting distracted every other line by the button prompts slowly fading in and out. As well as the auto-save notification in the other corner. And I wish there was a proper text history rather than having to awkwardly rewind to half-loaded sentences....
