Remove students and end your Classroom class
If you’re using Managed Apple IDs, you can log out students so each device is ready for the next class.
If the students each have their own device, they simply save the data to their device or, for the apps that support it, to iCloud.
After all students are logged out, you can end your class.
Disconnect remote students from a class
You can disconnect all students, some students or a single student from your remote class.
In Classroom , select Classes in the sidebar, then select a class.
Select the student or students you want to disconnect:
All students: Select All Students in the sidebar.
A specific group: Select an existing group in the sidebar. You can also manually create a group, then select it in the sidebar.
Specific students: Select the Select button, then choose which students you want.
A single student: Select one student in the sidebar.
Select , then select Disconnect .
After the students disconnect, select Done.
Remove students from your class
In Classroom , select Classes in the sidebar, then select a class.
Select the student or students you want to remove from your class:
All students: Select All Students in the sidebar.
A specific group: Select an existing group in the sidebar. You can also manually create a group, then select it in the sidebar.
Specific students: Select the Select button, then choose which students you want.
A single student: Select one student in the sidebar.
Select , select Remove , then select Remove again.
Log out one or more students from their Shared iPad devices
When you want to end a session, you can log out all students. When students are logged out of their Shared iPad devices, any documents they were working on are pushed to iCloud and are available the next time they sign in.
Note: Shared iPad and Managed Apple IDs are required for this action.
In Classroom , select Classes in the sidebar, then select a class.
Select the student or students you want to log out:
All students: Select All Students in the sidebar.
A specific group: Select an existing group in the sidebar. You can also manually create a group, then select it in the sidebar.
Specific students: Select the Select button, then choose which students you want.
A single student: Select one student in the sidebar.
In the row of actions, select , then select to log the student out of the Shared iPad.
Select Done.
An app icon appears on the Log Out screen of Shared iPad if the app on the iPad hasn’t finished pushing its documents to iCloud. When the app has finished pushing its documents to the cloud, its app icon disappears.
End a class
When your class period is over, you can end the class to return to the Classes view.
In Classroom , select Classes in the sidebar, then select a class.
In the row of actions, select , then select End Class .
Delete a class
When your class is completed, you can remove and permanently delete the class.
In Classroom , select Classes in the sidebar.
Select Edit in the upper right, select to remove the class, then read the warning about deleting the class.
If you still want to remove the class, select Delete, then select Done.
Note: A class must be ended before it can be removed.
