See where a photo was taken using Preview on Mac
If a photo contains GPS information, you can open it in Preview and view the location where it was taken on a world map and a street map.
Go to the Preview app
on your Mac.
Open a photo, then choose Tools > Show Location Info.
If Show Location Info appears in grey, the image doesn’t contain location information.
Click
, then click GPS.
A pin indicates the location where the photo was taken on a world map. To view a street map of the photo’s location, click Show in Maps.
