Learn the meaning of the iPod touch status icons
The icons in the status bar at the top of the screen provide information about iPod touch.
Wi-Fi iPod touch is connected to the internet over a Wi-Fi network. See Connect iPod touch to a Wi-Fi network. | |||||||||||
Network activity Shows that there’s network activity. Some third-party apps may also use this icon to indicate an active process. | |||||||||||
VPN iPod touch is connected to a network using VPN. | |||||||||||
Syncing iPod touch is syncing with your computer. See Sync iPod touch with your computer. | |||||||||||
Airplane mode Airplane mode is on. Nonwireless features are available, but wireless functions may be disabled. See Choose iPod touch settings for travel. | |||||||||||
Personal Hotspot iPod touch is connected to the internet through the Personal Hotspot of another device. See Join a Personal Hotspot. | |||||||||||
Call Indicator A green bubble or bar indicates iPod touch is on a FaceTime call. See Make and receive FaceTime calls on iPod touch. | |||||||||||
Recording Indicator A red bubble or bar indicates iPod touch is either recording sound or recording your screen. See Make a recording in Voice Memos on iPod touch. | |||||||||||
Camera In Use Indicator A green indicator appears at the top of your screen whenever an app is using your camera. Measure dimensions with iPod touch. | |||||||||||
Microphone In Use Indicator An orange indicator appears at the top of your screen whenever an app is using your microphone. Make a recording in Voice Memos on iPod touch. | |||||||||||
Lock iPod touch is locked. See Access features from the iPod touch Lock Screen. | |||||||||||
Do Not Disturb Do Not Disturb is turned on. See Set Do Not Disturb on iPod touch. | |||||||||||
