Play sound effects in Messages on Mac
You can make sound effects play when a text message is received.
In the Messages app
on your Mac, choose Messages > Preferences, then click General.Select “Play sound effects.”
Click the “Message received sound” pop-up menu, then choose the sound that plays when you receive messages.
