Use VoiceOver to edit notes in regions in GarageBand for iPad
In GarageBand for iPad, you can use VoiceOver gestures to edit notes in regions recorded with Touch Instruments.

Open the Editor
Navigate to a MIDI region, turn the VoiceOver rotor to Actions, swipe up or down until you hear “Edit”, then double-tap.
Select notes
Navigate to a MIDI note in the Editor, then double-tap.
Select multiple notes
Navigate to the additional note you want to select.
Turn the VoiceOver rotor to Actions, swipe up or down until you hear “Add or Remove from Multi-Selection”, then double-tap.
Unselect a selected note
Navigate to the note you want to unselect.
Turn the VoiceOver rotor to Actions, swipe up or down until you hear “Add to or Remove from Multi-Selection”, then double-tap.
Move notes
Navigate to the note you want to move, then double-tap and hold until you hear three rising tones.
Do any of the following:
Drag horizontally to move the note to the previous or next beat.
Drag vertically to change the pitch.
If you’re editing the notes for a drum kit, dragging vertically changes the kit piece.
Copy and paste notes
Turn the VoiceOver rotor to Actions, swipe up or down until you hear “Copy”, then double-tap.
Move the playhead to the point where you want to paste the notes.
Turn the VoiceOver rotor to Actions, swipe up or down until you hear “Paste”, then double-tap.
Delete notes
Turn the VoiceOver rotor to Actions, swipe up or down until you hear “Delete”, then double-tap.
Change the length of a note
Turn the VoiceOver rotor to Actions, swipe up or down until you hear “Update Length via Gesture”, then double-tap.
Double-tap and hold until you hear three rising tones, then drag horizontally to change the length of the note.
Double-tap again when you are done.
Change note velocity
Turn the VoiceOver rotor to Actions, swipe up or down until you hear “Velocity”, then double-tap.
Swipe up or down to increase or decrease the velocity.
Double-tap and hold until you hear three rising tones, then drag horizontally to change the velocity.
When you finish, move two fingers back and forth three times quickly, making a “z”.
Close the editor
Navigate to the Done button, then double-tap.
