Enter Latin characters
You can enter Latin characters (such as English or French) as half-width without switching to another input source. If you’re using a Simplified Chinese input source, you can also enter Latin characters as full-width.
Enter half-width characters
Type the characters (for uppercase Latin, hold down the Shift key while you type), then choose the characters in the Candidate window.
To switch to a Latin mode, press the Caps Lock key and begin typing. To return to entering Chinese characters, press the Caps Lock key again.
Enter full-width characters
Full-width Latin characters are spaced to align with Chinese text. They’re useful when you use both Latin and Chinese characters and alignment matters, as in tables.
If you’re using a Chinese input source: Click the Input menu in the menu bar, then choose Show Emoji & Symbols.
If you already have half-width characters: Use Services to convert between full and half width.
