Add Home accessories on Mac
You can’t use your Mac to add accessories to Home; you must use the Home app on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. See the Apple Support article Add a HomeKit accessory to the Home app, and the Home accessories website for a list of accessories that are compatible with the Home app.
