Complete partially entered words in TextEdit on Mac
You can see possible completions for a word you partially entered.
For example, for a partial word such as “ret,” you see options such as “retire” or “retrieve.” For a complete word, such as “return,” you see fewer options, such as “returning” and “returned.”
In the TextEdit app
on your Mac, place the insertion point at the end of a partial word.
Choose Edit > Complete (or press Option-Esc), then select a word from the list (or use the Touch Bar).
