KPMG in Thailand recently hosted the first KPMG M&A insights event on 20 November 2024, joined by AON Insurance who provided updates on M&A insurance products.
During this event, our team of experts, including Ian Thornhill, Partner and Head of Deal Advisory, KPMG in Thailand and his fellow Partners and Directors Chortip Varutbangkul, Surayos Chuephanich and Dominic Kobel shared their views on recent M&A trends and the investment outlook for 2025 with a focus on Private Equity fund-raising and portfolio maturity; Michael Lock, Director, M&A and Transaction Solutions (AMATS), Aon UK Limited and Jamie Wan, Director, Transaction Solutions, Aon Asia then discussed opportunities for leveraging transaction insurance solutions to effectively mitigate risks and provide more certainty in transaction negotiations, especially important for PE funds looking for a clean exit of their investments.
The presenters then enjoyed a lively discussion covering example transactions where both known (e.g. tax and litigation exposures) and unknown risks are covered by insurance policies, and the discussion continued over a networking breakfast.
