เกี่ยวกับเรา
In Sanskrit, Manushya means 'Human Being'. It was founded in 2017 by Emilie Palamy Pradichit, as an Intersectional Feminist organization reinforcing the power of local communities to fight for Human Rights, Equality & Justice ✊🏼⚖️ 🕊 Our Vision #WeAreManushyan • Equal Human Beings • We Believe in the 'Infinite Positive Power of Humans' in building together inclusive, just, equal and peaceful societies in Asia, where everyone enjoys human rights, leaving no one behind. ❤️ Our Mission We connect and reinforce the power of local communities across Asia to be at the center of decisions and policies that affect them. Communities become Agents of Change fighting for their rights and providing solutions to improve their lives and livelihoods. ♾ Our Thematic Focus 1. Digital Rights: We work towards the promotion and protection of online freedom of expression and online privacy. 2. Business & Human Rights / Climate Justice: We’re committed to put People & Planet over Profit! 3. United Nations Accountability Mechanisms: We reinforce the power of local communities to engage with UN Human Rights Mechanisms, ensuring their voices and needs are taken into account to improve the situation on the ground. We also pursue international litigation cases to bring Justice to communities! 4. Women Leaders: We apply a gender lens to our work and ensure women human rights defenders lead human rights decisions and initiatives. 5. Resourcing Human Rights Defenders: We provide subgrants to marginalized communities affected by unfair policies and facing the most adverse impacts of business conducts. 💫 How change happens? We implement the following strategies ⤵️ 1. Coalition Building: establishing strong intersectional networks. 2. Capacity Development: enabling communities to effectively fight for their rights. 3. Research & Advocacy: centering communities' voices in policies. 4. Subgranting: financially supporting the most marginalized to fight for their rights!

#DisabilityLeadership 🌍 Amplifying Voices for an Inclusive Future 🎉 Today, we celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities! This year’s theme, “Amplifying the Leadership of Persons with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future,” is a reminder of the power of representation and agency. 💪 Leadership Matters: When persons with disabilities lead, entire communities thrive. They’re not just advocating for their own rights—they’re paving the way for a more just, sustainable world for all. 🌍 Breaking Barriers: Disability inclusion isn’t charity—it’s a necessity for equity. Did you know that every $1 invested in universal health care for persons with disabilities generates a $10 return? That’s a future worth building. 🫂 Together, We Thrive: A truly inclusive world uplifts everyone. Let’s stand united to prioritize accessibility, amplify voices, and ensure leadership from within the disability community. 👉 Swipe through to learn more and take action for a more inclusive tomorrow. #WeAreManushyan ♾️ Equal Human Beings #DisabilityRights #InclusiveFuture #DisabilityInclusion #IntersectionalEquity #NothingAboutUsWithoutUs #SustainableDevelopment #DisabilityLeadership #AmplifyVoices #AccessibilityForAll #TogetherForInclusion #HumanRights

🌍 ICJ Climate Hearings: Landmark Moment for Climate Justice⚖️ 📅 December 2–13: The International Court of Justice (ICJ) is hosting groundbreaking hearings to define states’ legal obligations in combating the climate crisis. Ninety-eight States and twelve international organizations will participate, making this a historic moment for climate justice. 💡 Why It Matters? This pivotal advisory opinion requested by the UN General Assembly in March 2023, will address two crucial questions: 1. What are states’ international obligations to protect the climate system for current and future generations? 2.What are the legal consequences for states whose actions—or failures—cause significant harm to the climate system, with respect to vulnerable nations like small island developing states and individuals affected now and in the future by climate change? 🏛️ The hearings bring the world’s largest polluters face-to-face with the most climate-vulnerable nations. The ICJ’s advisory opinion could reshape global climate law, providing vulnerable nations with stronger legal tools to demand action and justice in future negotiations. 🌱 Let’s unite in our call for climate justice and push for accountability from those most responsible for the crisis! #WeAreManushyan ♾️EqualHumanBeings #AOLetsGO #ClimateJustice #CorporateCapture #MakePollutersPay #HumanRights #ClimateJusticeAO #ClimateReparations

#WorldAIDSDay ❤️ Reflecting on Resilience, Standing for Equity 🌍 Today, we honor the global fight against HIV/AIDS—a battle not just of science but of justice and humanity. This day is a reminder of the stigma, inequality, and systemic barriers that continue to cost lives. 🙏 Solidarity means more than awareness; it’s about advocating for access to treatment, fighting discrimination, and ensuring no one is left behind. 🫂 The disproportionate impact on marginalized communities calls for action against the intersecting injustices of poverty, racism, and gender inequality. Together, we can build a world where healthcare is a right, not a privilege. Swipe to learn how you can join the fight for equity and dignity in the face of HIV/AIDS. #WeAreManushyan ♾️ Equal Human Beings #WorldAIDSDay #EndAIDS #HealthEquity #Solidarity #FightStigma #HIVAwareness #JusticeForAll

#DecolonisingWellbeing 🫂No community care without accountability and repair! 💔The missing ingredient in too many ‘#Decolonization” and “#Liberation” #Movements throughout #History has been a failure to maintain #Solidarity and #Unity, leading to fragmentation and setbacks. This is often as a result of a lack of #Accountability and #Repair practices to serve as checks and balances for power. ✊Oppression exists because of harm that nobody ever took accountability for, or offered reparations for. “Community,” “liberation,” and “decolonisation” are just buzzwords unless we actually put accountability and repair into practice. A ‘movement’ with no accountability or repair practices in place is nothing more than a hypocritical repackaging of existing oppressive systems. There can be no real community care without accountability and repair. Our movements won’t succeed without them. #FreePalestine ✊Reflecting on the Struggle, Standing for Justice 🇵🇸 Today marks the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. It's not just a day to reflect—it’s a call to act against ongoing occupation, oppression, and violence. 🙏 Solidarity means more than just empathy; it’s about amplifying voices, demanding justice, and supporting Palestinian self-determination. 🫂 The devastation in Gaza, particularly the impacts on women and children, is a call to confront colonial systems that perpetuate suffering. It’s time to take action and stand for a future of justice, freedom, and dignity. ‼️ #WHRD Day! 👭✊ On this International Women Human Rights Defenders Day, we’re telling you about our recent win for Lao WHRDs! Earlier this year, we submitted a shadow report for the CEDAW’s review of Laos. And, as expected, the Lao delegation showed up with their usual parade of excuses. Led by officials who’ve mastered the art of empty rhetoric, they tried to deflect attention from the government’s failures and mislead the Committee with tired talking points. But thanks to our detailed CEDAW report exposing the Lao government’s lies, the Committee couldn’t ignore the truth. Their Concluding Observations called out the government’s failures to protect women’s rights and deliver on their promises. This is a win for every woman whose voice has been silenced, every activist who’s been oppressed, and every community that’s been ignored. But this fight is far from over. We’ve made our mark, and now the pressure is on. Read our full report and join us in amplifying the truth. The battle continues. 🔗 Scan the QR Code or Access the report on our website ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/eAu4PAGb #WeAreManushyan ♾️ Equal Human Beings #WHRDs #WomenHumanRightsDefenders #WHRDsDay #CEDAWReview #WomensRightsMatte r#WomensRights #LaosGovernmentFailures #HumanRights #EqualityForAl l#Indigenous #WomenHumanRightsDefenders #Accountability #Feminism #JusticeForWomen #ONU #Feminist #CEDAW2024 #LaoPDR #Activism #FightForJustice #HumanRightsMatter #humantrafficking #IntersectionalFeminism

JOIN US on December 11th🚨 #ReportLaunch: Is Thailand ready for #AI that respects #HumanRights?‼️ 🔥 As Thailand propels itself into the 'AI'-driven era, it faces grave human rights challenges that threaten to undermine the foundational principles of equality and justice. Our in-depth report, "Balancing progress and human rights: Is Thailand ready for Artificial Intelligence that respects human rights?" scrutinises these pressing issues with rigorous attention. 💫Our report unveils considerable legal deficiencies that leave the most vulnerable sectors of society exposed to the rapid proliferation of so-called 'AI' technologies. By introducing the Human rights-focused policy impact assessment , we challenge the prevailing paradigms that favour technological advancement at the expense of human rights and societal well-being. Our findings demand immediate and uncompromising reforms. We advocate for robust legal amendments to ensure that the development of so-called 'AI' technology benefits all members of society equitably, reinforcing the principles of justice and human dignity rather than eroding them. ✊🏻As we prepare for the launch of this pivotal report, the need for collective action has never been more urgent. We stand at a crucial juncture—join us in championing a future where technology supports and enhances human rights, not diminishes them. Your voice is essential as we strive for policies that protect all citizens amidst rapid technological transformation. ✨The report launch will be moderated by Tommy Walker, Jean Linis-Dinco, PhD, the author of the study, will deliver the presentation. Following the presentation, a panel discussion will feature three distinguished reactors: Emilie Palamy Pradichit, Joanita G. Britto Menon and Arzak Khan. Together, they will explore and evaluate the critical question: Is Thailand ready for AI that respects human rights? 🗓 Remember to join our LIVE LinkedIN Event on 11 December 2024, to play a part in shaping an equitable 'AI' future. 🔗 Scan the QR code to access the event, or access it via this LINK: https://bit.ly/4hUCT61 ⏰ Join us from all around the world, check your timezone ⬇️ • 18.00 / 6.00 PM (Melbourne) • 14.00 / 2.00 PM (Bangkok) • 12.30 PM (Delhi) • 08.00 AM (Paris) • 02.00 AM (NYC) #WeAreManushyan ♾️ Equal Human Beings #ResponsibleAI #Artificialintelligence #EthicalAI #IA #PeopleOverProfit #Equality #Justice #Feminism

‼️Despite the urgent #climate crisis greenhouse gas emissions are still rising! 😰Current and planned climate action until 2030 and beyond is grossly inadequate to ensure a safe climate for humanity. Collective current plans only amount to a 2% emissions reduction by 2030 compared to 2019, whereas a 43% cut is needed to avoid CLIMATE CHAOS. 📣Urgent actions and transformation are needed in the current economic order, including the international financial architecture and business models. The neo-liberal and neo-colonial capitalist economy is failing the vast majority of people and the environment, mainly in Global Majority countries! ⚖️While COP29 just ended, failing communities facing the impacts of climate change, in few days, youth and Indigenous Peoples will be in the Hague to tell their stories ahead of the historic International Court of Justice climate hearings. The world’s highest court will soon clarify countries' obligations in relation to the climate crisis. This is an important stepping stone for holding polluters ACCOUNTABLE! ✊We stand in solidarity with Pacific Islands youth in demanding climate justice. It is time to shift to a people and planet centered approach! Sign the petition https://lnkd.in/dZGcCe6y #ClimateJustice #HumanRights #ClimateReparations #COP29 #AOLetsGO

🚨#JusticeForRohingya✊ #ICC ⚖️ Manushya Foundation ♾ #WeAreManushyan staunchly supports the International Criminal Court Prosecutor's move to apply for an arrest warrant against Min Aung Hlaing, Senior General of Tatmadaw and Acting President of Myanmar. This application charges him with crimes against humanity, specifically the deportation and persecution of the Rohingya during the violent events in Rakhine State in 2016 and 2017. This pivotal step marks the first time a high-level official from the Myanmar government has been targeted for these grave offenses. As we continue to support the cause of the Rohingya, we recognise their unyielding demand for justice. As we stand with Rohingya people, we must also spotlight those who have amplified the harm, particularly Facebook, whose platform played a big role in this tragedy. JUSTICE MUST BE COMPREHENSIVE. We urge the global community and judicial bodies to continue their support and ensure that all entities, including corporate ones, are held accountable for their role in human rights violations. This pursuit of justice at the ICC should be seen as part of a broader struggle against the global capitalist system that perpetuates inequality and violence. We must not rest until all forms of authoritarian oppression are eradicated. 📸: UN Women Asia & the Pacific 👉LINK TO THE ICC NEWS: https://lnkd.in/emTAfHdV #JusticeForRohingya #HumanRights #Accountability #MyanmarCrisis #ICC #StopAuthoritarianism #EndImpunity #CrimesAgainstHumanity #SocialMediaAccountability #GlobalJustice #RohingyaGenocide #UNHumanRights #CorporateAccountability #NoToOppression #SolidarityWithRohingya UN Women Asia and the Pacific Altsean Burma Wai Wai Nu Noor Azizah Hafsar Tameesuddin Debbie Stothard Emilie Palamy Pradichit International Campaign for the Rohingya Rohingya Culture Center Rohingya Project The Rohingya Post Rohingya Human Rights Initiative (ROHRIngya) ROHRIngya
