Today's Collection Update : Krabi, Thailand We collected waste from the Klong Gam Pondok School at the Ban Khuan Tor Pier, filling approximately 6 six-wheeled trucks! Empowering Communities Through Waste Segregation On August 8, 2024, Wongpanit Krabi joined forces with Thap Prik Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO) to deliver an insightful training session on waste segregation and the value it can unlock. With 60 enthusiastic participants, including Village Health Volunteers (VHV) and SAO staff, the session highlighted how separating waste reduces pollution and turns trash into treasure by promoting recycling and sustainable resource management. The energy in the room was incredible, with attendees eager to ask questions and learn how to make a real difference. Inspired by the knowledge shared, the SAO is now set to launch a community waste bank—an initiative that will bring lasting benefits to the area. Jam Island, Krabi, Thailand Today, Ko Eiang and Phuyai Fai from Koh Jam delivered all the sorted ocean plastic waste to Laem Krot Pier. With our partner Wongpanit Krabi CO., LTD., we organized a vehicle and a team to pick up the waste at the pier and return it to our facility. The Second Life Project plays a crucial role in this process by providing resources and support to ensure efficient waste collection and recycling. By increasing the buying price of recyclable materials and offering a reliable market for these items, the project helps individuals like Ko Eiang and Phuyai Fai earn a sustainable income and support their families.
