Preventing violence against women requires a shift from response to proactive, evidence-based action. At the 12th Asia-Pacific Forum for Sustainable Development (APFSD), UN Women and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), co-organized a side event to highlight what works in preventing violence before it happens.  Government officials, researchers, and practitioners came together to discuss effective approaches, from integrating prevention into national policies to engaging men, boys, the media, and the private sector.  Speakers emphasized that prevention efforts must be sustained, systemic, and grounded in evidence. The discussion also highlighted the importance of collaboration across sectors to shift harmful social norms and ensure lasting change.
